Resignations

I think that this is the best place to put this, although it might fit in a couple. (Would isotropic discussion be a better place?)

Is there a minimum number of turns that need to be played in order for a resign to count as a loss rather than as if nothing happened? I ask this because in 3-player games it's not uncommon for one player to resign before even hitting 2 turns. In those games, I will generally resign on my next turn and explain to my remaining opponent that I don't like 2-player games with the big piles of 3 player games. So, am I getting more losses than I should otherwise be getting or does the system take into account the number of turns played and get rid of those that don't reach a threshold?

Games that end in less than 5 turns are simply ignored.

Having a "Loss Forgiven" system for resigning early wouldn't be a good thing.  People could just resign whenever they didn't like the split that they got.  But for the case you describe, perhaps there could be "Loss Forgiven" if another player has already resigned.  Probably also add in a turn limit (within first 3 turns or something) so as to prevent a losing player from attempting to harass another player into resigning just so they can resign themselves without penalty.

PPE: I guess everything I wrote can be disregarded. :P

Councilroom ignores them, isotropic does not.

iso is really the big dog, most people care a lot more about their level and their win-loss record on cr, so the incentive problem is really minimal.  (otoh, it makes using cr as a tool to find win traders harder).

Wait, does that mean people can have a different level on CR vs. Iso?

No.  The CR levels are just scraped from iso.

What iso credits for a win (but never directly displays), and what CR credits for a win are different.

I seriously considered trying to optimize the truskill system and display a better level than iso does, but never actually went through with it.

By 5 turns, do you mean each player having 5 turns or do you mean 5 turns spread through all the players? If it's the first one, then that's good. If not, 5 turns spread throughout all the players will cover up to the first player's turn 3 in 2-player and won't even cover the entire opening in 3 or 4 player.

I assume you mean the first, but I just want to clarify.

Crap - I once resigned on HiveMindEmulator after turn 4 (it was hopeless). I hope he didn't think I was cheating...

I believe that they're ignored in the sense that their logs don't get saved, not that they don't contribute to your level/ranking. Isotropic still keeps track of them, it's just that councilroom doesn't. Is that right?
