I literally JUST NOTICED drunk mafia was now an actual thing, but I'm way too drunk to actually read it all the way through. How did it end up working? Can anyone jump in? How much do you have to drink? How do I get inthe next one?
Worked pretty well. Ended up being more of a super ultra turbo blitz mafia.  I think some people drank quite a bit.  I didn't really, and when I did I just kind of lurked.

There were six of us online that just wanted to do it and we just started. I imagine the next one start like that.

This thread needs a bump, and I'm in just the... Condition... To do so!

Just had a completely awesome sour by Russian River  called Supplication. Sours won't be for everyone, and they're very seasonal... But if you like them, damn are they good. This one only ran ~8% ("only" - ha!), but boy did it leave you puckered by the end! Sweet undertones, it reminded me of an old style PROPER apple cider. Absolutely delicious.

2 of those down before the barrel ran out (it was popular!), and on to Pliney the Elder (also brewed by RR), and I'm doin' just fine. Gonna be a gooood night. :)

I like sours, and have been to Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor. I so want to visit Russian River if I get the chance!

I live an hour and a half from RR, so have the opportunity to get their brews on a regular basis. ;D

I was born in Michigan and still have lots of family there. I'll have to check out Jolly Pumpkin next time I'm in town.

What was it? Beer? Scotch? What?

I'm not a big beer fan myself, it makes me feel a little ill. I generally like the stronger stuff, just not too much of it.

Yeah, me and LD are pretty tight.

Also, thoughts and feelings on that alcohol?  Let's hear it.

I hope not, I'm not really planning to start drinking except for special occasions. The special occasion in this case was being the only sober guy with a driver's license; I didn't really feel like driving and this was the easiest way to avoid it.

I'm going to make some viking-style mead for next year's Walpurgisnacht though.

I've noticed that beer seems to make a lot of people sick. You know, besides the sickness one gets from alcohol itself. I can just imagine all that fluid sloshing around a tipsy person's empty stomach, making them feel even more sick. It also has gluten, in case there's anyone here who might be intolerant to that.

I only drink liquor. Rum seems to be my favourite liquor so far. See, my nutritionist has advised me to avoid gluten, among other things (like dairy, corn, and junk food in general). Do yourself a favour, and DO NOT follow such a diet unless you absolutely have to due to allergies or something. It's not worth it, and you'll get sick if you don't find good alternatives for everything you remove from your diet.

In recent times, I've had a few episodes where I drank more than I'm used to. Still, I've never thrown up or gotten a hangover from alcohol, and I don't plan to start.

I like beer since it's really easy to pace myself with it and it comes in so many flavors if you know where to look.

Good point, actually. It takes a large amount of beer to get drunk, but only a relatively small amount of liquor (volume wise), to get drunk. The danger is being lulled into a false sense of security with beer when you have liquor before or after. I was just at a party where this happened to a friend. She got sick enough to not want to drink again.
