Can you make a board with no other potion cost cards where Transmute is usable?

Only trasher, Sea Hag, Duke?  Or maybe Embargoes instead to make Duke powerful.

And of course Duchess right :]

Had one with transmute, great hall, and silk road that worked well, although the opponent wasn't great so I can't guarantee it was optimal.  Buy great hall on 3, silk road on 4, and either explode great hall for duchy/gold, or other transmutes to set up more duchies.  Pretty niche, though.

Yesterday I crushed my RL friend with a Transmute / Scrying Pool / Vineyard engine. With Transmute being the only trasher, it really shined in turning the Coppers into Action cards

Great article. I don't think it's too long at all.  Since it's so rarely used and so weird a card, I'm much more unfamiliar with it than most and appreciate the lavish analysis.

I still think it's a better card than the likes of Scout and Stash.  Transmute is a weird edge-case but useful in the right situation; those other cards have an effect that's always "useful" but just pathetically weak for the cost.

Good article. And here's another good transmute game where I used transmute more as a money maker.

It worked great for me but I'm not sure iangoth played it optimally. witch was a waste of time (he ended up with the only curses) and his terminals kept colliding.

Note transmute does not help IGG rushes at all!

I think you're right, but in this game, you're second player, your opponent split 5-2, there was no good non-IGG buy, and you drew your potion with your silver, so that went much worse than expectation.

Here's an example I found where transmute worked perfectly.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201206/21/game-20120621-085602-44100e60.html

In a scrying pool deck transmutes are great for turning coppers into more transmutes to keep the pools running.

In addition in this set it was great with tournament. The pools make sure the province and tournaments line up, and the transmutes take care of the estates that followers give.
