I sent out night 1 PMs for RMM3... and then I accidentally deleted the day 2 start post I was writing.  So it'll be a bit longer.

I have been debating with robz regarding wether or not day 3 should start in a new thread.

I say yes. He says: won't that piss everyone off?  Discuss this - but obviously not the game.

I vote yes, I was going to even suggest it!

Why though? I'm not in the game and I don't care, but why would you do it?

For me personally, I like to be able to go to the print screen, copy and paste and then e-mail the thread to myself to review at places where I don't have access to the site... But with the thread so enormously huge, I can't do that. But that is a purely selfish reason and shouldn't be the only reason for doing it.

In the game thread, I linked an app that might help called Pocket.

I think the "All" button is going to quickly become unavailable.  By rolling into a new thread, the view all posts becomes viable again, and people who want the history will still be able to pull down the whole thing for analysis.

The Print button usually doesn't fail, even upon reaching hundreds of pages...

I have no problem doing that if it's what most people want.

Meh I like having one for simplicity's sake but I guess if I were for simplicity's sake, I would be for a new thread. Hm. I guess I am indifferent.

I like peeking through the collection of all our finished games, and there's a fond memory every time I see the behemoths sitting there collecting dust. The feeling of epic-ness would be lost by a split, I think.

...

But that's not really a justifiable reason not to I suppose. So I'm fine with a new thread. Just update the opening post, and the last lynch post, into the first two posts. Then the unlock can come in post #3.

Yeah, this is my big reason for not splitting them.

I am not sure how big the effort on theory's part would be, but is it possible to combine the threads after the game is finished via moderator?

Yes, I can re-combine the threads after.  Just send me a PM and tell me which threads.

If you don't mind doing this, I will start Day 3 in a new thread. Otherwise, I would keep them together for the sake of historical accuracy. :)

I don't mind at all!  It is literally two seconds of effort and makes it way easier for people to click on "view all".  Just for fun I tried to click "All" on RMM3: my (work) computer crashed.

I can also make topics display more than 25 posts per page, but perhaps navigation is easier with that number?  But if you've thought to yourself, man I'd love to see 50 posts per page you should speak up and let me know.  It is a forum-wide setting apparently.

While you are here Theory....

On my old forum, we used to have a mod that let you click on number of posts on a thread and it gave a breakdown on how many posts each person had had in that thread....

Also, you can append &wap, &wap2, or &imode to the end of a URL and get this really slimmed down ugly mobile version.  Works with the "All" button too.  Maybe some of you will prefer that for giant threads.
