18 here. Ageism is a very real prejudice (not on here, much more so in daily life).

I remember feeling discriminated against for my age when I posted on forums at age 16 or so. But now I know I was just a dumbass.

How did you feel you were treated by society though? I mean, there's always teenage angst and "me against the world" but people tend to draw a lot of (I think) unfair conclusions about someone based on their age. I'm not saying just about young people either, the elderly are also discriminated against.

Part of the reason I haven't outright said until now... that I'm 16.

One of the games I used to play, Puzzle Pirates, had the widest age range of any game I've played. I started playing it when I was about 14, and I was in a crew with a lot of people my age, but also people in their 20s, 30s, going all the way up to some people who had grandkids. I've managed to keep in touch with a few of them -- it was definitely interesting talking to people with that diverse of an age range, and in my opinion made it a better experience.

I was addicted to that game for a while. I think I also started when I was about 14! I didn't do as much talking to others though and mainly just played with my brother and sister.

It was a really fun game -- I put a ton of hours into it, way more than I've put into any other game. Unfortunately the player base has significantly declined from its peak -- I wouldn't be surprised if the game only lasts a few more years at most. I'll still log on from time to time for a game of hearts -- it has a really good community for hearts.

I would just play poker. Playing in small pools and slowly building up my money to enter the high roller area. One I got in I would instantly try to get lucky and go allin to get way more money. I lost a lot of money through poker...

People should keep posting their age, so that I can mentally discriminate you between the people who are too young to be taken seriously, and the people who are too old to stay relevant.

I didn't know silverspawn was that young! And Awaclus is older. I can't remember if he's sudgy's age, or even older than that.

I loved puzzle pirates! My dreams used to be filled with that carpentry puzzle. It made me sad that they seem to delete your account if you don't play too often though.

We called them "providers".  Sometimes it was hard to watch: you knew they were regulars, you knew they had been grinding for a long time in the smaller games to build a bankroll, and you knew they were in over their head.  But it was their choice to move up in limits.
