So I just bought Tichu for my iPod Touch and it constantly hangs. I tried re-installing it, but no improvement. I have the latest iOs update and the faq isn't much help either. Anybody else have this problem or direct me to a solution? This is a really fun game to play on the train or but not like this.

Maybe its the latest IOS thats causing the problem? Game may not be optimised to run for it. I dont think you can roll them back though can you? (apart from factory settings restore...eugh)

Also, had never heard of it, so looked it up on wikipedia..

Tichu is the trade name for what appears to be a variant of Choi Dai Di (Hong Kong slang: "Step on the little guy") or Da Lao Er (Mandarin slang: "Big penis")

I assume you're talking about big 2, the 4 player ladder climbing game?  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Two

It is similar, but its different enough to not really call it a variant.  I'd say its a mix of Big Two and Spades.

Wait, there is a Big Two -- Spades mashup game?  I love both of those.    Must learn more.

While it's true that "lao er" is a slang for "penis," I don't think that's what it's meant to be called...
