jonts' Solo Challenge 1: Low Point (Finished)

Everyone is always trying to see how many points they can get. Well not today. Today I want to see how few points you can get.

Kingdom: Gardens, Vineyards, Fairgrounds, Forge, Wharf, University, Trade Route, Feast, Mining Village, Crossroads, !Colony
Conditions: End the game in 20 turns or less with all 8 copies of Gardens, Vineyards, and Fairgrounds still in your deck.
Scoring: Lowest score wins
Ends: Tuesday 5/22 at 6:00 PM EDT.


1st, 2nd, 3rd shall receive 3, 2, 1 points respectively. May the worst player win!

Whew, that's ugly man. 3-pile on greens, with no great deck sorting or gainers? No easy trashing (Forge isn't easy). And in 20 turns? With all the gunk still around? Ouch. AND likely try to maximize curses without hitting new highs on Gardens?

Nasty, nasty, and nasty.

Sounds like fun!

It's not nearly so messy as you say. There is a good gainer, you can trash all your other cards, and you have very good card draw. Ending in 20 turns isn't that hard. But I needed to put an upper bound so that people cant take a bunch of turns just whittling their decks down.


Also in case anyone is interested, the best (worst?) possible score is 16 points. Have fun hitting that.

That's really tough to get all these green cards in 20 turns. My first try was 25 turns, but I got 64 points.

I have no problem getting all the the green cards; I just can't trash enough to feel competitive without hosing my last turn(s).  Good challenge!

*Lightbulb*  I'm gonna try something a little different next time.

This is a lot of fun. I also found that the longer I tried it, the more interesting it got. On my first few attempts, I didn't even get all of the Vineyards, Gardens, and Fairgrounds by turn 20! But, I think I got a pretty good score.

BTW, this challenge should be called "Dominion Golf".

OK. Results are in. All top entries ended up with 3 point gardens, 2 point fairgrounds, and 2 point vineyards. The difference was the number of curses jammed in there.

In third place we have a 4-way tie with 56 points. Though it should be noted that michaeljb could have bought a curse and Schneau could have bought 2 curses.

This is what I was going for originally, but I only had a couple of tries to make the original deadline.  I think it's pretty hard to beat:

Exactly, that's why I only tried until I got 7 curses and didn't tried to get 29 cards. But impressive that you actually managed that.
