NYC/Jersey City Live Games

Anyone near who is interested for live games in the NYC/ Jersey City area?

I have the four sets: Base, Seaside, Prosperity, and Hinterlands. I am level 27 on Isotropic and am trying to get better.

Thanks,

Some sort of meet-up in the NYC area has been tossed around before but nothing really came of it.

I'd be up for something of a Dominionstrategy get together, assuming I'm free. I have no idea what the logistics for something like that would be like.

I live in Manhattan. I'd love to meet some other people who play heavily on isotropic.

There's a gaming shop I only recently discovered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, called Twenty Sided Store. It's a 3 minute walk from the Lorimer St. stop on the L. The store has board game nights every Thursday. They have a number of games open and freely available for anyone to pick up and play, but they only have the base set of Dominion.

What if we tried to organize a meet-up at Twenty Sided Store during one of their board game nights where we each bring an expansion (or better yet, our own pre-designed kingdoms)?

i'm a little far away for regular meetups there but i would definitely be in for a one day event.  if we could use the store as a location i'm sure we could get a decent tournament or meetup going.

I am one hour away from Twenty Sided Store which is fine by me! I have the four sets I mentioned all cards sleeved and fitted into two cardboard TCG boxes. I'll pick up Intrigue too and we can accommodate a lot of players. When are you guys free?

Awww, but then you have to play IRL Dominion!  Which is some weird card-based implementation of an amazing computer game :)

I found it hilarious that with both rrenaud and theory at my house this past weekend - nobody even considered playing dominion!

I'd be happy to play games IRL with anyone from this fine community, but I think I agree... the game of dominion that I love is 2 players, and played on my pc.  If I get 4 people around a table - I want my new copy of Mage Knight to hit the table.

Nothing like weightlifting hundreds of pieces of cardboard in cardboard weights around the city.

well if we are going to play dominion i'd prefer we had enough people for a tournament, or at least some decent round robin play.

i would be up for a DS.com meet up of sorts to just hang out or play some other games.  the trouble is (i think) location.  somebody's apartment/house might not be big enough (and maybe a little weird to have strangers over) but finding an adequate neutral location can be difficult.

Is it terrible that I think all Dominion tournaments would be better if everyone brought a laptop and played on Isotropic?

Hahaha, Dominion LAN party, I wonder if that has been done before. I don't think its terrible but don't let Rio Grande Games know. So the real cards are only for casual play I see.  I know some people on the starcraft group at Columbia end up playing mtgo a lot at their lan parties after losing too much.

My friends and I did it once before I got the sets.

I would definitely be up for gaming meetups in NYC and nearby transit-accessible locales.  Right now I live in Philly and just visit the city frequently, but there's a very good chance I'll be moving up here in a couple months.
