One-Shot Deck

Here's a challenge that bends the standard rules:
At your cleanup phase, trash all cards in play.
How many substantially different ways can you get to Colony, with perfect shuffle luck? Here are two simple examples:
$4->Treasure Map
$0->Copper
$4->Treasure Map
Treasure Map->4 Golds
$12->Colony

$2->FG
$2->FG
$2->FG
$0->Copper
$11->Colony

What's the next fastest way to do this?
It involves Mandarin, most likely

edit: fixed, thanks.

Your first example should be spending $0 on a Copper, not $3 (unless you like trashing coppers to buy coppers). (edit: Okay, that's been fixed)

Hmm... The problem with Mandarin is putting cards back

$5 ->Mandarin
$5 ->Mandarin
$4 ->Mining Village
$0 ->Copper
$3 ->Silver
$0 ->Copper
$7 (Mandarin Copper Copper Silver) -> King's Court
$11 (Mining Village, KC Mandarin) -> Colony

This seems a little inelegant, but isn't too slow. I feel like there should be something faster.

Here's another equally fast strategy with the same cards.

$5 ->Mandarin
$5 ->Mandarin
$5 ->Mandarin
$4 ->Mining Village
$0 ->Copper
$4 ->Mining Village
$8 (Mining Village Mandarin Mandarin) ->King's Court
$11 (Mining Village KC-Mandarin) ->Colony

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Hmm..
$5 ->Mandarin
$5 ->Mandarin
$4->Mining Village
$2->Copper (or $1->, or $0->)
$7 (Mining Village Mandarin) ->Forge
Forge(Mandarin, 3x Estate) ->Colony
You can also use Throne Room, Quarry, Contraband, or Cache instead of Mining Village.
The $2 turn is annoying, but most likely unavoidable.

1. $5 -> Mandarin
2. $4 -> Trader
3. $2 -> Courtyard (reshuffle, deck is TMCouCopEEE)
4. Trader trashes Mandarn, buy nothing
5. Courtyard draws $11 + Estate, put back Estate and buy Colony.

Also for kicks a solution without Mandarin

1. $4 -> Trader
2. $2 -> Hamlet (deck is THCEEE)
3. Hamlet discards for +Buy, gain 2 Silvers (deck is TSSCEEE)
4. Buy Cache gain 2 Silver (EE     TCaSS)
5. Trader trashes E, buy nothing
6. CaSSSS buys Colony

Those are pretty sweet solutions. The trashing really speeds up the deck.

Here's one without reshuffling:
$5 Mandarin x8
$5 Inn
Mandarin+Copper->Mining Village
Inn (Not discarding estates) Mandarin x2->Inn
Mandarin+Copper->Throne Room
Inn Mandarin x2 (Putting estates back)->Inn
Mining Village Mandarin TR Mandarin->Colony

At a whopping 14 turns. Nasty.
There's probably a better way with Forge.

$5 -> Counting House
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
$0 -> Copper
Counting House (played while 12 Coppers are in the discard) -> Colony

DStu's solution wins the "Sheer Bloodymindedness" award.  :)

Here's an alternative.  5 turns, no Mandarin.

1. Draw CCEEE -> Play CC, buy Duchess
2. Draw CCCCC -> Play CCC, buy Tunnel
3. Draw CDEEE -> Play Duchess, reveal and discard Tunnel (gaining Gold), buy Duchess
4. Draw CCDEG -> Play Duchess, reveal and discard Tunnel (gaining Gold), play CCG, buy Forge
5. Draw EEFGT -> Forge Gold/Tunnel/Estate into Colony

Here's my 4-turn solution

This solution depends on you being player 1 in a multiplayer game.

Turn 1
YOU: $5, Jester
Player 1: $5, Cache
Player 2: $5, Cache
Player 3: $5, Cache

Turn 2
YOU: $2, Duchess
Players 1-3: Nothing

Turn 3
YOU: Jester, gaining 3 copies of Cache
Players 1-3: Irrelevant

Turn 4
Draw Duchess, Cache, Cache, Cache, Estate, buy Colony

I haven't seen a solution using Remodel yet, so here's one in 8 turns (though it could probably go faster).

$5 Mandarin
$5 Cache
$0 Copper
$7 (Mandarin, Cache, Copper) King's Court

$0 Copper
$5 Mandarin
$5 Remodel (don't need the fifth copper so trashing it is fine)

KC-Remodel Mandarin (into KC, into Plat, into Colony)

Remodel doesn't put the new card in your hand...

Oh whoops.  Now I feel dumb.  It was because I was thinking of using KC-Mine to build up to Plat first... sigh.  I'm terrible.

Oh man, KC-Mine to turn Copper into Platinum would be awesome!

Three new solutions for redemption!

4 turns using Herbalist, assuming that its topdecking still works even though you are trashing cards from play instead of discarding them.

$2 Herbalist
$5 Cache
Herbalist+Cache+C+C --> Forge (put Cache back on top)
Forge (Cache, Estatex3) --> Colony

6 turns using Baron.

$5 Mandarin
$5 Cache
$0 Copper
$7 (Mandarin, Cache, Copper) King's Court
$4 Baron
KC-Baron (discard Estatex3) --> Colony

7 turns using Embargo/Trader.  There's probably a faster way using this combo.

$2 Embargo
$4 Trader (one copper remains)

MTEEE;C (M = Embargo)
Embargo Embargo, buy Embargo (reveal Trader on Curse)

C,MTEE;ES
Embargo Cache, buy Embargo (reveal Trader on Curse)

ES,MTC;EES
Embargo Cache*, Buy Cache (reveal Trader on Curses and Coppers)

EES,ET;HSSSS (H = Cache)
(useless turn waiting for reshuffle)

HSSSS;EEETS
Cache + Silverx4 --> Colony

*this isn't actually necessary since there's an extra silver left over.

I hope I didn't make any more dumb mistakes in these ones.  ;D

Here's one using develop in six turns:

Turn 1: Buy Develop
Turn 2: Buy remodel
Turn 3: Develop remodel into a develop and a duchy
Turn 4: Develop duchy into a border village/duchy/remodel
Turn 5: Remodel border village into a forge
Turn 6: Forge duchy and estate x3 into a colony
