so assuming we get a red on Shadow, we gotta decide between passing or not.
If we pass they have to get both of a 2 clue, and grab their last clue for "practice".
If we go for it, we cannot win right now. We could only get a max of 8 and we went first, so we need 9. So... if we were to pass or go for it... either way they kind of have to win it next round... cuz if we pass with 7 we just have to get a 2-clue... which I assume we should be able to do.

the words we have to choose from for Filter are:

No's = london, casino, bear, paw, tooth

Maybe's =
- Lock; like to lock something down, or with a password, like to filter a computer for a child. You also have to practice lock picking... so wait if it is our pick.
- Private; I really like this one... but due to the potential of it being PRIVATE PRACTICE for them, if it is the one we go with... we should probably wait.
- Finger; like if you give someone the finger on TV and they filter it out with a blur? pretty safe if we chose to do it. but not my favorite.

Top Choices=
- Honey, Lemon, and Maple: The reasoning is roughly the same for all three. However, I am a HUGE favorite on Honey if we choose to go this way. Good news is that all three are safe of there clues, but I still would say HONEY the best.
- Mail; I actually "like" mail better than honey, but I know we are not eye to eye on that, so I could go honey first if insisted.

Anything in there you disagree with?

Most of what you say is good - except that I prefer Maple to Honey, as when you make maple syrup, filtering is a big step in the process.

You're right we cannot win this round. My only reason to lean to guessing is in case it's hard to give a 2 clue, then we get one guess out of the way for filter... BUT on the other hand, leaving an extra word on the board could make their round harder.

why do you prefer honey to maple?

FYI, your reasoning on private is exactly what I thought, but was trying not to say aloud. That's actually one more reason NOT to take the extra guess, I guess (pun!). Since private could be either for filter or practice, it's also a dangerous for them... i.e. if we guess maple, honey, or mail and it is red, then private is a safer guess for them.

So I may lean to no guess.

Honey was same concept as maple. I didn’t know anything about maple.

Agree 100% with Bear.

Tooth might be the next best guess. I’m trying to think of a better word to tie the two together and not really coming up with anything.

Maple/Honey could have a gummy consistency (more so Honey, I suppose) - but I think there are better clues than Gummy for those.

There are gummy fruits, and lemon could fit there. Not sure how you pair Lemon/Bear, but I’m also not sure that’s better than Tooth.

None of the others have any connection I can see.

So, yeah, think I’m good with Bear & Tooth.

we also still have the last word from practice remaining (assuming it wasn't Stadium). Given the state of the board, I think we're going to need to take that guess.

Words I could see for practice:

Private - as discussed by the other team, but could also be the word for Filter.
Tooth - would be via dentist, but of course Tooth is already clued from Gummy.
Casino - I guess it takes practice to win at the Casino? Though most things are more Luck-based, so it's not a strong connection
Bear/Paw - both kinda work via veterinarian but it's fairly weak
Finger - NSFW

Not 100% but could be. I really have no idea what to do for the last leaflet though. I would be fine with Casino or London - agreed that they seem most likely. Unless you like my maple leaf theory.

I'd say between London and Maple. (casino too much of a stretch)

The idea behind London is I feel they must have dropped leaflets over London at some point during the war... 🤷‍♂️

But I always did like Maple for filter*, and Maple Leaf -> Leaflet would be fairly clever.

* though as you point out could've been mail for that...

So let's ask this, given Maple and Mail, is there a better clue to give? Given Mail and London, is there a better clue?

Which do you prefer of the two?

Mail and London has to have something there. I cannot think of it, but some post office or a term or something for london mail. IDK.

Good point though.

I am 100% torn between Maple and Mail both being potential filter vs Maple leaf AGAINST Mail and london probably having a easier clue.

I like Maple. Your call though.

Agreed on there probably could be a better clue for Mail and London (international? though then we'd be debating casino, as well, maybe).

Another reason it could be mail is just that leaflet is a type of paper which is made from trees.

Yeah. I knew cluing Bear and Lemon was a tall order. Gummy was the best I could think of, of course I totally missed the tooth connection.

Amusingly, Honey would have been the perfect clue for bear and lemon, except it was on the board!
