Inheritance + Disciple?

What happens if you have used Inheritance (e.g. on Remodel) then Disciple an Estate, with no Remodels left in Supply?
I am pretty sure you gain an Estate in this case, but someone I was playing with is adamant that "Estates are now Remodels, so you gain a Remodel, but you can't, so don't gain anything"
Who was right?

You are right.

You always gained an Estate in that case, that was true before the September 2019 errata and it is true now. The Estate always kept it's name, and Disciple goes by name, not by anything else.

It doesn't matter if the Remodel pile is empty or not; Disciple will gain you an Estate, not a Remodel. Assuming that the Estate pile is not empty. If it is, you won't gain anything.
