I like how some of the Ways make Ruins actually quite appealing.  Way of the Horse in particular turns them into $0 Horses.  Cultist and Marauder become pretty pointless with that in the game, while the Ruins they would hand out become pretty appealing buys, especially if the kingdom has plenty of +buy (and Ruined Market at least gives you a +buy when not using the Way, so Ruins alone guarantee at least a little bit of +buy)

(and Ruined Market at least gives you a +buy when not using the Way, so Ruins alone guarantee at least a little bit of +buy)

Fun fact: the only way to truly guarantee the existence of any one ruin is to play 6-player, otherwise there is a very small chance that the random selection of ruins left out all 10 of one of them.
