Let's see, nothing really obvious to me... What words are left?

Palm - nope?
Cap - goes on the head, like a halo does.
Shoe - unlikely.
Atlantis - not as far as I know.
Club - there could be a Halo Club somewhere. Not sure what sort of members it would have.
Bark - surely not.
Scientist - Halle was a scientist, right? Too much of a stretch, surely. There might be a Dr Halo I haven't heard of.
Rock - Any rock groups called Halo?
Stick - I suppose in school Christmas plays the angels have to stick their halos on somehow.
Grace - Angels have halos and are gracious I suppose.

I actually prefer no Google. Cap seems ok. There could be a Halo science project or rock group, but I don't know about it. You made a joke with stick, but actually, I think that might be a good guess.

You made a joke with stick, but actually, I think that might be a good guess.
I don't see any realistic connection with stick. Can you sell it to me?

There's the halo you sometimes see round the moon (ice crystals I think?) >> 'scientist'.
And I can almost picture the word "Halo" in my wife's CD collection, as a group or album name or something >> 'rock'. I wonder why Galz thought their team should avoid rock? Is there a rock group called "Firewall" or something?
But mostly I think I'm happiest with 'cap'. Unless Didds is hoping we'll rule it out based on the conversation about it maybe being one of red's words for construction? Would have been helpful if Eevee and Galz could have guessed that one. :)

I'm assuming no googling actually means no research in general. It should be like we're actually sitting round a table playing a game. We know what we know and that's it. No getting up and looking in reference books, no phone-a-friend, no going and looking through my wife's CD collection.

Because of the sticks used to hold rhem up in costumes,  like you said.

I like cap best.

Also, it could possibly have been the other tachometer word. Cap as in some upper limit? Or even the fuel cap or something.

I think stick feels more like Didds. It is also a better guess for tachometer than cap, because the tachometer tells you when to shift in stick shift cars.

How likely do you think Block was the third one for Tachometer? Is there a clear link there, or is it a link Didds might have overlooked?

Do people actually use sticks to hold up halos in costumes? When I mentioned it I'd only thought in terms of stick, the verb, like using glue or sticky-tape or something to hold it on. I thought super-tenuous because we had to think of stick as the verb in order to get there. And now that I'm putting some serious thought into my (limited) experience of nativity plays, I think halos are just bits of tinsel balanced upon the head. How do American halos work?

Halo = grace-cap. Nice ring to it?

Am I over-analysing?

I think block was probably from tachometer.  Engine block is a thing. Here, halos are absolutely held up by sticks. Even on Xmas tree ornaments.

There's also Palm Sunday to consider.  I'm not Christian,  so I don't what it celebrates,  though, or even when it is.

It's the Sunday before Easter. Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey. No halos recorded. Unlikely I think.

If halos are held up by sticks over there, then maybe. I really don't like it. But you know Didds better than me, and you've been on the same wavelength this game so far, so I'm happy to go with it if it's still the one you want.

Or what do you think about passing and hoping that red's final two words are tricky also?

At least we know we are at least on the same team. A town v town argument, except we're not trying to hit red here.

Let's go for it. I'll be appropriately rueful if I'm wrong, but it's too fun of an answer to let go by.
