Still thinking for Ranch:

Rabbit, as in what Fox's hunt, or perhaps a food of hunters
Olive, although I would think Vineyard before Ranch - I'm not convinced the connection is strong. (Unless we're looking for Olive B{ranch})?
Tale, as in story. There are many, many stories that take place on a Ranch.
Heart - Heart is where the Home is, or Heart and Hearth - both bring images of farms and ranch's to me.
Witch - Wizard of Oz reference? Dorothy grew up on, and wanted to get home to, her ranch.

Fwiw, Ranch for (b)ranch would be an illegal clue. The clue has to refer to the meaning, not the form of the word. Similarly how you couldn't give clues that start with the same letter or sound similar.

Maybe tale is best if Beijing is correct because it could be for either clue? I'm not feeling confident at all, you can choose. We are in a hole, guessing something is probably the thing to do.
