Townie McTownerson was a model citizen of the town of Town. He loved the town. In fact, living in the town and being townie were the most important and, in fact, only defining characteristics of his existence.
As he climbed into bed, Townie McTownerson reflected on his day. He had attended the town meeting and, seized with a sudden sense of towniness, hopped on stage, grabbed the mic, and delivered a stirring address about his love for the town.
His fellow townies had responded with stirring applause, of course. But he couldn’t help but feel like the applause wasn’t quite loud enough. He wondered if the crowd contained any members of the Scummy Anti-Town Mafia about which he had been hearing rumors.
“Nah,” he thought. “They’re just a myth. No one in this great town could secretly hate it and want to kill everyone in it.”
And with that, he turned off his light and went to sleep. Little did he know, he would never wake up.
Townie McTownerson has been killed. He was Town-aligned.
