1st time posting here asking for feedback. I am primarily working on Base dominion right now and wanted to try the 1st game setup anew.

I hope it is readable.

I wonder where I went wrong. I opened 5/2 (I am lillumultipass) and as there isn't a lot of trashing cards, I took Mine. It seems that it is not a very good card in general, but here it seemed good to me to trash coppers.
My opponent went the remodel way and it is probably better. My idea was to get a standard Village-smithy Engine, then add markets all the while changing coppers into silver.
But, I think I did not get enough villages as I had quite a few terminal collisions.

what do you think ?

With the First Game setup, you probably want *both* Mine and Remodel. Mine's the best way of getting rid of your Coppers, but Remodel gives you a lot of other trash-for-benefit options.

thanks. I did actually. I knew about remodel but as I went 5/2 I thought opening with Mine would be ok. I think my mistake though was not getting a remodel on turn 4 and getting a smithy instead.

Mine open on 5 is fine, Cellar is fine too. Turn 4 should have been a Remodel. I would also have considered Workshop on $3 before the second Village, but that's not mandatory or anything. Just would be nice for gaining more Villages more quickly as it eventually is the gating item in the set.

A thing to have in mind about market is what it offers you. Market is mainly a scource of +buy ad is a cantrip. Therefore, if you are allready drawing deck and you have lets say 3 buys. Is buying a market (cantrip 0 plus cards+1money) worth it or is lets say buying village moat (+1card) better? In a way you sort of overbuilt (for your plan), you needed green faster. Also, your economy increase was lower than expected. eg. a merchant +moat is more economy than a market (all other parameters held equal). Finally, a remark on merchants, (given your opponent ended game with 2 merchants and 0 silvers). When you add merchants to a deck its often good to have extra silvers (not too many though) so that merchants are not just a cantrip. All in all though, you did well!

I think my main mistake was indeed not getting the remodel T4 and having maybe a wee bit too many terminals vs. Village.
