It would be awesome to have you join us, LL!  It has been awesome people, awesome fun, so far. There is also a less demanding game signing up (Less Pressure) that has 48 hour days and no night. We have played three of them at this point (I think), and they seem to average about 4-5 days.

I hope that you are doing well!  We miss you!!

That's very sweet and I mean it! Lately I am cautious about contributing to things as I am in a somewhat permanent sociophobic state, but I may try. It didn't work for me yet, working out the details with Jimmmmm

I'll probably open the second Normal setup (2d3) when Matrix6 #1 is in Night 1 or Day 2. If you missed out on Matrix6 #1 (or die early) and want me to reserve you a spot in 2d3 #1, let me know.

I feel you on the sociophobic level. This format, for whatever reason, has been far more friendly and chatty than f.ds. And because the friendly and chatty folks have been in from early on, I don’t think we’ll be disciplined by the all-business players into being less interested in one another. I was scum two out of the three times I played and that wasn’t yucky. The scum daychst in the Less Pressure game made it way less isolating. That’s my sense anyway.  xoxo

Can I get access?

I would like longer deadlines, which is why I've been reluctant so far.

Longer than 7 days? What are your ideal deadlines?

Also generally speaking, if people tell me what's holding them back from getting involved, I'm more than happy to try to accommodate everyone.

Once Custom games are a thing, you'll be able to make these kinds of decisions yourselves when you run a game.

No, 7 days is fine, I thought I read it was 48 hours somewhere.

Right, so we've only had Blitz games so far, which have 48 hour deadlines. But our first Normal game with 7-day days and 2-day nights has just started. The second should start in about a week (unless enough players sign up for Matrix6 for a second one of those to start). Would you like me to reserve a spot for you?

Isn't it enough if I sign up to have a spot reserved?

I mean, in about a week I plan to open another setup, 2d3. I'm offering for those not playing Matrix6 #1 to sign you up as soon as I open it so that you'll still play even if you're not in the first 9 people to be online and want to play.

You can definitely sign up for Matrix6 now and you'll be in the next one of those that start. Just be aware that your signup will expire after 24 hours if you don't renew it, and those already playing Matrix6 can't sign up while they're still alive in that game (although I can sign them up if we're close-ish to filling a second game).

Here are some feature requests:

1) optional e-mail notifications for (each as a separate option):
 - game starts
 - new game phase starts
 - new votes
 - new posts

2) in each post, display links to all of the replies to that post

3) when you hover your cursor over a post link, highlight that post in a slightly different color if it's visible on the current screen, otherwise display it in a popup where your cursor is

4) when you click on a post link, instead of reloading the page, just jump to that post if it's on the same page

5) Make it possible for a post to be a reply to multiple posts

6) Consider making each vote count a reply to each previous vote count

I'll definitely look into doing this at some point.

2) in each post, display links to all of the replies to that post

I've thought about the best way to do this without it taking up too much space if it become a lot. Still thinking.

3) when you hover your cursor over a post link, highlight that post in a slightly different color if it's visible on the current screen, otherwise display it in a popup where your cursor is

I'm not sure I'll go with a popup as it might be difficult for it to work well across screen sizes and with varied post lengths, but how best to refer to replied to posts is definitely on my radar. Highlighting the post if it's on-screen is a cool idea.

I'll look into this.

5) Make it possible for a post to be a reply to multiple posts

Definitely on my radar. Rather, being able to quote multiple posts.

Quote
6) Consider making each vote count a reply to each previous vote count

So that you can link back to the previous one? What about instead a view that shows all the votes?

I'm not sure if it's unreasonably difficult to implement, but that's a pretty standard image board feature.

That could work too.
