Here is the latest news from Jay, crossposted from the discord.

- the rulebook will go up sometime on Monday
- with Jay shipping on Monday, conceivably someone will have it Tuesday, certainly some people will have it Wednesday, but there's no guarantee any particular store will have it then, it's all down to how far the distributor is and how quickly they spring into action
- there will be some copies in English in Europe at the same time; I don't know how you get those but they will be there, lurking
- Jay said ShuffleIT could put the online version up Monday; Stef will pick a time and announce it in his forums

Heavy breathing.

EDIT: There won't happen to be any at Spellenspektakel 2018?

EDIT: There won't happen to be any at Spellenspektakel 2018?
That is not information I have.

There is an entity Jay works with in Europe that got copies directly from Altenburger, meaning they have them already. I don't know who they are but I mean they aren't trying to hide, they want to sell their products.

Afaik, the vendor of the Dutch version is 999 Games and not ASS Altenburger. Or does ASS Altenburger also produce the Dutch cards?

I'm pretty sure we're talking about English copies here, which seem to be printed by Altenburger

Correct.

999 Games does make the Dutch version of Dominion; I don't know if they will do this expansion at all, or when they might do it, or who would print it for them. That's all utterly unrelated to the fact that some European company is distributing English copies of Renaissance.

Yes, I'm talking about English copies.
In my experience, 999 Games usually publishes the Dutch version about a year after the original has released.

...and then I read Fleet.  I'm also intrigued by Crop Rotation.  Should I be buying Duchies with 5 earlier?  Estates with spare buys and 2 bucks in midgame?

Just play as with Shephard I could imagine, not too mindboggling.

But Capitalism, yeah. How, what, huh, oh man.

Random comments as I go through this.

- I like that Cargo Ship is a Duration. Nice nod to Seaside.
- Hideout is an interesting trasher, and an interesting Village, while being still very simple. Neat design!
- I thought things happening at the start of cleanup would be avoided in the future, but I guess the rules confusion of Improve with Scheme /Hermit etc. is not too big.
- Lackeys seem so similar to Silk Merchant. I'm confused why we have both.
- I wonder why Old Witch went with the Curse trashing instead of a Mountebank-like reaction. Result is mostly the same other than Curses running out more quickly.
- finally an on-reveal reaction!
- I feel like Research would be a better name for a project than a card. Oh well. Duration-Apprentice is an interesting concept.
- Scepter is very cool both from flavor perspective and mechanics. Sceptering a Throne Room gets as crazy as Villa.
- Academy could enable pretty amazing megaturns.
- Capitalism is cool, but I am somewhat disappointed that it won't count the +1$ token since that would be a lot of fun.
- Exploration seems like a strange thematic choice as what it does is quite different from both Explorer and Expedition.
- If I understand Fleet correctly, everyone but the last player could have an Outpost turn? That seems like a somewhat unfair ruling, but I understand that it is consistent and I guess the last player is also the one who makes the choice to end the game, so it's fine.
- I like that Sinister Plot uses the available tokens to do another thing.

I wonder if this will depend on your translation. I imagine that in the past, people did not pay close attention to keeping this keyword while translating.

You forgot Tribute and Envoy.

Dutch Cutpurse and Taxman don't contain 'toon' or 'tonen'. I haven't checked Nocturne because I only have it in English. I can imagine other non-English translations may have similar problems.

Shepherd wants lots of green.  Crop Rotation wants exactly one in each hand

Ah right. Somehow I forgot about the promos, and there's also Black Market (if Patron is in the Black Market deck).

Capitalism allows you to play a Black Market with Black Market. That could easily lead to a lot of revealed cards. (This was previoulsy possible, but way less practical, with Crown) I wonder if the online interface is equipped to handle this.

I made a thread to discuss the rulebook so shipping-related stuff can remain here.

I tried it four deep and it was fine.

I haven't gone through the whole thing, but there's also Bureucrat, which reveals opponents' hands when it misses.

Nocturne: Shepherd
Shepherd can only reveal Victory cards. You might have inherited Patrons, but your Estates are still Estates.

Right. I'm looking at it from the point of view: Which cards need to be tested to be sure they work with the Patron effect? And then Shepherd comes in again.
