I am good aligned, I am da samurai (flavor), I am a human.

I started the game with no abilities and yes night 1 I received the ability to reveal essence which makes the mod reveal my alignment, role, and items. It could be used starting night 2 but was not limited to night 2. Also the power mentions that if a player is wearing a disguise their disguise will be revealed instead of their true essence. I didn’t use the power last night because a) I’m aware it can’t actually confirm I am town because of the disguise caveat and b) I didn’t want to reveal that I had the ability or what items I had if not necessary.

I did start the game with an item. If the player holding the item is a samurai they can kill someone at night. My first question to iguana was am I a samurai as my name is da samurai but I’m called a human. He didn’t directly answer, he edited my initial pm to say (paraphrasing) I might become a samurai.

I have not attempted to use the item, I have not given the item away. I debated giving the item to galz but as there is a potential galz is lying/scum combined with my belief that vigs shouldn’t shoot early on I decided to hold it and see if I became a samuria.

This should explain my initial want for galz to expose what items he was aware of because I would be more likely to trust galz if he knew the name of the item I had on me.

Upon typing the lost I included the name of the item, I still think it may be smart for me to conceal it and see if galz knows what the item is that I hold. But if people disagree I can say what it is.

The item in question is "Jack's Samurai Sword". Most of what he's said about it is accurate - except it's impossible for him to not have known that it belongs to Jack.

iguana can you confirm you have not made a clerical error in how you wrote the name of the itema. I will ask this more specifically in my qt and suggest you do the same galz. That’s is not the exact wording of the name of the item.

Also yes I know it belongs to samurai jack but it explicitly says that if the player holding it is a samurai hey can kill someone at night not if samurai jack is holding the item.

I never thought samurai jack couldn’t use it.

Let me clarify - shouldn't have used quotes here - I don't know the exact technical name of the sword that Iguana may have used. I have been told that I know that my sword exists, is in the game, and that I can wield it. It is clearly Jack's Sword though.

The reason for my vote is that your logic is inconsistent - I claimed Jack, uncontested. You claim to know the item is Jack's (it's pretty clear) - yet you say you didn't trust me and that:

"I would be more likely to trust galz if he knew the name of the item I had on me."

Yet if I was Jack (which again, uncontested), and you knew the item belonged to Jack, it doesn't seem to follow that you would question me on this.

Okay yea the quotes threw me off it is Samurai Jack’s Sword. Not Jack’s Samurai Sword.

That is not the only thing I said. Mainly I do not know that you are town and as I said even taking that risk into account (I think you are town) I’m not a fan of vigs shooting anyway so I didn’t find the risk of giving you the sword worth it.

The part about you knowing the name of the item is that there is a non-zero chance that you are an evil being in the disguise of samurai jack or have just fake claimed samurai jack and that the real samurai jack was keeping quiet because they are super important to town and didn’t want to get killed. That is a long shot but possible and you knowing exactly if the items samurai jack can use makes me more comfortable that you are the real samurai jack.

Not taking advantage of the reveal essence to become a near-IC is very, very scummy. This whole "oh but what if I was disguised" business doesn't add up... I mean, that's something mafia would worry about. Like, a townie would get this, use it, be happy to be confirmed town, and not fret the whole disguise business.

I don't understand why "if I'm in a disguise this wouldn't work" is something that would prevent you from revealing your essence. Are you in a disguise? You're not claiming to be. The rest of us wouldn't even know about the disguise thing. So you wouldn't even need to muddy the waters in such a fashion.
