A) you have an item that indicates there is a nonzero amount of discussion to be had and as such you should have just came forward/requested that information.

or

B) you are speculating that there is a nonzero amount of discussion to be had about one of the games core mechanics and as such is a completely unnecessary statement to make.

My guess based on flavor is that someone is samurai jack (main character) and the good aligned players have items that can help power up samurai jack to defeat the evil aku/his evil followers. SO while it would be great for the important "I can use things" player to step forward then scum knows to kill him.

Also based on flavor the alignment switch would have to do with the time travel involved in the series not sure how it would be implemented though

Okay. Is Samurai Jack Scottish?

He is Japanese from feudal japan. He is a samurai warrior with awesome skills who is about to defeat the evil aku when aku sends him flying foreward in time to when aku rules the whole word and it is jack against tremendous odds. Jack tries to battle aku while finding a way to go back in time and finish aku off before he plunges the world into evil.

This is all off pretty lets say "hazy" memories of watching the show.
