If you start your turn looking at Cursed Village and four +1-Action cards, you can play them all then play Cursed Village for +6 Cards, +2 Actions.

I'm glad you said it. It seemed like the detractors were implying that at best Cursed Village is equivalent to a Lost City, which just isn't true. Of course, Lost City is reliable at what it does whereas Cursed Village is more variable.

As for the question of whether I'd rather give my opponents +1 Card or receive a Hex on-buy, I think at this point in time I'm inclined to say I'd rather give my opponents +1 Card than have to take the Hex. Although that could change as I get a better feel for the Hexes. I will say, it seems like the first Hex of any turn is the most painful and giving out multiple yields diminishing returns. When I've bought Cursed Villages, that Hex tends to be the first one I've received on the turn, but maybe Cursed Village would hurt less if you happened to also be building a deck with Leprechaun. Dunno.

Cursed Village is great with disappearing money like Festival, Courtier, Harvest (which is at least a terminal Gold in most cases), and Minion. There are also interesting combinations with some handsize reducers, including Oasis, and of course, Storeroom! (And it may be also nice with some handsize reducing trashers like Forge/Chapel/Junk Dealer/Forager/Salvager.) I really love this card.

I haven't played as much with Cursed Village itself, but extrapolating from my experience with the (fan) Seasons card Sanitarium, it's pretty strong. I still like Sanitarium at 4$, but yeah, that fixed draw can be amazing.

I had a fun game with CV, Plaza, Artificer and Horse Traders recently.

There was no real trashing, so my deck was inconsistent, but when it fired it was beautiful.

... the ones that can give +Action without +Card?

Running through the list, I see: Lurker, Pawn, Lookout, Apprentice, Tournament, Forager, Candlestick Maker, Transmogrify, Royal Carriage. All of those look significantly more attractive than usual in the presence of Cursed Village.

Mystic if she is a shoddy guesser.

What would be really awesome is if there is coppersmith and cursed village, and then you buy a cursed village and get greed.

Dunno if it’s been said; but some of the hexes don’t hurt you at all when it’s your buy phase instead of an opponent’s turn. So the receive the next hex part is less of a penalty than it seems at first.

The discussion of when it's used best, how to use it well (although it's a village, you want to have a lot of nonterminals to make sure it actually draws you a reasonable number of cards, and it with terminal draw tends to turn it into a necropolis more often than you'd like), led me down the path of remembrance of another card.

Cursed Village isn't a Lost City, it's a Shanty Town!

I had a game with CV and Outpost, which was great, Outpost turns did not look very different from regular turns.

Don't play Pathfinder on Cursed Village :p

One of the few times it's hurt me when it normally isn't a big deal was when I wanted to Trash a Copper, but Haunting made me discard it.
