-This is true of literally every trasher that trashes one at a time. For Loan the payoff comes in the shuffle after you play it rather than the shuffle after that, so in a way it's faster.

I never thought about it that way. It's a good point. Also applies to any other card that trashes from your deck, rather than your hand or discard.

I did a new calculation since I didn't consider all variables. It came out at 5/48 or 10.42%:

I got 15.4%.

I rated each card according to Adam Horton's ranking list.

Loan: B
Spice Merchant: A-
Lookout: B+
Forager: A-

Here is my list: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4p7StLdFpClamJtSE5vOHNJeGdaRjJqQlVkaTNsMUdlbDZJ/view?usp=sharing

Might be worth mentioning the awesomeness of Tunnel/Loan

The really awesome part is that Loan can help you trash all of the extra Gold you get.

I've had difficulty in getting Loan to discard a Tunnel.  You'll often just hit a Copper or other Treasure instead.  I suppose you can avoid buying Treasure to up your chances of revealing a Tunnel, but stalling your engine in the hopes of getting Gold wouldn't put you out ahead.

Tunnel/Loan/Tomb?
It makes it better, but probably still not enough.

When you play the game of Loans, you thin or you die.

But on a more serious note, I'll be hearing the Game Of Thrones theme every time I play a Loan from now on :)
