I've used Overlord to copy Reserve cards.   Plural.. I've done it more than once :(

If there's no other +buy on the board, I sometimes get Death Cart in the desperate hope there's Ruined Market somewhere in there.

I just used Overlord as Ratcatcher deliberately: Ratcatcher was the only (remaining) cantrip in the supply, and I was desperately hoping to draw a Treasure so I could play my other Overlord as Stables. (It worked!)

Last night I had a dream that I was playing Dominion. Mandarin and Capital were both on the board, but I missed the combo completely. I only realized it when my opponent took half the Provinces  :(

Scout isn't up there in my personal rankings for the cards, but it's also nowhere near the lowest either!

I was quite far behind against Lord Rattington, but confident that I could catch up using Torturer chains (he always discards).
Then one turn I only managed to play 2 Torturers, and his remaining card was... Lighthouse.
Hmm, so my Torturer plan might not work. Tell you what, I'll buy some Rabbles and get him with those instead.

Masterpiece and Feodum were literally right next to each other on the board, and I didn't see it.

I trashed a ghost because what's the point if you have drawn your whole deck every turn and can't find anything with it?

ugh

SMH

Worst part is, it was DAYS later that I realized you could buy an action, and THEN play the ghost, and hit exactly the action you want to double.

Well, I wouldn't say that it sucks. It's pretty much on par with the basic supply cards. Usually there's something better in the kingdom, but Harem is strong enough on its own that you just need a weak kingdom and then you buy Harem, it's not like Bureaucrat etc. where you need a crazy edge case for the card to be good.

I always make the implicit assumption that everyone here looks like their F.DS avatar in real life.

I still don't know the Knights names off the top of my head, other than Dame Anna cus that's the best one. I just think of them as "the +2 cards Knight", "the +2 Actions Knight", etc. I suspect the same thing will happen for Boons and Hexes. "The trashing Boon", "The +card Boon", etc. And I just had to Google for 'Bag of Gold'.

There are a few mnemonics. Dame Sylvia is a terminal silver. The Forest's Gift is the Woodcutter effect. War has the same effect as Warrior.

That said, I mistook Magic Lamp for Haunted Mirror last night and was surprised I didn't get a Ghost.

Knights are less of a problem for me because you are rarely presented with just the card name, and rarely do you need to care about more than which one is on top. They also spend time in your deck and in your hand, so you have more opportunities to associate what they do with the name and image.

Boons, on the other hand, are trickier. The art is no help, since they are seen for such a brief moment and depict landscapes rather than people. Some of the names provide hints, as AJD pointed out, but I still have trouble with about half of them.

Here's the best I can do:

Mountain - gives a Silver, like from a dwarf mine or something
Flame - fire destroys your stuff, except your fortress of fortitude
Wind - blows some cards into your yard, then blows some cards out
Forest - you find the old Woodcutter in the forest, but he's old and depressed so he's not as good
Sea - the waves wash a soggy card to your feet
River - the river floods, but when the waters recede, a soggy card is left at your feet
Moon - it's dark but then the moon rises and you find that crappy card you were looking for
Sky - uhh.. it starts raining gold and you drop everything else you had to pick it up
Swamp - you tap one swamp and summon a flying, regenerating chump blocker
Sun - in the light of day you see how crappy your future is and decide to do something about it
Field - This one is just bazaar
Earth - umm, it's like a plein air workshop or something. I don't know. This one doesn't make much sense.

Sea: Sea-side has some good draw cards like Ghost Ship and Wharf
River: Related to Sea's Gift though common water theme, so remember that this is the draw boon that isn't Sea's Gift
Moon: Scavenger works in the moonlight
Sky: Where the rainbows leading to a pot of Gold can be seen
Field: that boon which starts with an 'F' but isn't Forest's Gift (that maps to Woodcutter), so it's the one that gives +1 Action instead of +Buy, and it also reminds me of the Farming Village art
Earth: Salt the Earth is a 4-cost event, and this gains a 4-cost card
Sun: uhh, well that Cartographer might be happier working under the sunlight instead of by candlelight.
