If you want to write about a game you or someone else played during the league, or post links to video coverage, please do so in this thread.

If you've lost a game and want to ask for advice, you can also post it here

Game 5: https://youtu.be/nmFb-BLxzpQ
Brilliant mass gain for the K.O.!

You have to watch game 5, it features an infinite combo that empties two piles no matter how big they are.

If you don't want to watch it, here it is in a nutshell:

Start with 2 Actions, have Develop, Fortress and Lost City in hand, play Develop on Fortress to topdeck Lost City and Develop, play Lost City, rinse and repeat infinitely.

Game 2: https://youtu.be/QIu-aONTTmc
Donate to the Bishops
A stronger golden deck would have been:
Bazaar x2, Bishop x2, Swamp Hag x2, Hunting Grounds
Each turn: Duration Swamp Hag for $3, Play Bazaar, Play Bishop - trashing Hunting Grounds - gaining Duchy, Play Bazaar, Play Bishop - trashing Duchy, Play Swamp Hag, Buy Hunting Grounds
7 VP per turn.  If the Duchies run out before the Provinces, replace Hunting Grounds with Gold, Bishop a Bishop and buy a Province.

But is there is time to set up the stronger golden deck before the simple golden deck grabs too many Provinces?  Assume you played the same through turn 5.  Your deck is Bishop, Silver x3, Copper.
Turn 6: Play Bishop - trash Copper, Buy Swamp Hag
Turn 7: Play Swamp Hag, Buy Swamp Hag
Turn 8: Duration Swamp Hag, Play Swamp Hag, Buy Bazaar.
Turn 9: Duration Swamp Hag, Play Bazaar, Play Bishop - trash Silver, Play Swamp Hag, Buy Bazaar
Turn 10: Duration Swamp Hag, Play Bazaar, Play Bazaar, Play Bishop - trash Silver, Play Swamp Hag, Buy Bishop
Turn 11: Duration Swamp Hag, Play Bazaar, Play Bazaar, Play Bishop - trash Silver, Play Swamp Hag, Buy Hunting Grounds
Turn 12+: Optimal golden deck

You start attacking with Swamp Hag on turn 7.  You gain 7 VP on turns 6-11 from Bishops.  Hard to say if the Swamp Hag attack is disruptive enough to give the win to this strategy.  If you're being attacked, you can transition into the following deck:
Bazaar x3, Bishop x2, Swamp Hag x2, Curse - trashing Curse and Bazaar each turn.  4 VP per turn.

Another golden deck that is resistant to Swamp Hag is:
Bazaar x4, Bishop, Swamp Hag x2, Province, Watchtower - trash Curse with Watchtower, trash Province to Bishop.  5 VP per turn.

Those are definitely stronger golden decks! My plan was to construct a deck something like this if I was up against the Swamp Hag: Bazaar x2, Watchtower, Bishop, Gold, Silver, Province. It's not 100% (1/21 chance that I stall, did I do that right?) solid but I could still trash Province and gain Bazaar if I stalled (which would set me up to buy Province the following turn). Additionally, I may have to take a Curse because I would have to use Watchtower for draw (not sure of this chance).

With that deck there would be a 2/7 chance that a Bazaar is your last card.  If you start with one Bazaar in hand, you could play the Watchtower to draw the second Bazaar, but then you get a Curse.  I think it would be better (so long as there is more than one Province left) to just buy a Gold or Bazaar instead of a Province.  So, that deck is solid.  Better than the 4x Bazaar monstrosity I came up with.  I was too focused on keeping the stop card count below 5 that I didn't think about mitigating the downside on the turns where you miss a Bazaar.

Regarding turn 2 Overlord on game 5: I think that is absolutely correct.  I think a turn 2 Overlord is usually correct, but it is especially strong on that board for the following reasons:
  • Trading Post is great in the early game, but poor later on.  Overlord can be Trading Post early.
  • Overlord can work around the Lost City on-gain penalty.  A Lost City for 8 debt would be a fine card by itself.
  • Develop is a card that is situationally great (especially with Fortress, of course).  With Overlord(s), you don't need to add a Develop to your deck.

I do like the third Bazaar. I might give a turn 2 Overlord a crack one day!
