Small Castle- Obliged to Trash?

If I play a Small Castle, am I obliged to trash something?

It says "Trash this or another Castle from your hand". So can I choose the "another castle from my hand" option, which means I trash nothing but don't get the effect?

First you pick "this" or "another Castle from your hand." Then you are obliged to trash the thing you picked if you can. This means that it doesn't "keep you honest" in the rare cases where you wish to play Small Castle without trashing anything but have a Castle in hand.

Okay, so if I have no castles in hand, I'm not obliged to trash the Small Castle?

Okay, so if I have no castles in hand, I'm not obliged to trash the Small Castle?
