30 Reasons Scout shouldn't have died

1. It's not even that underpowered.
2. Adding +$1 to Scout could make it a power $4 instead of replacing it.
3. You're making the world think that Dominion is just another fighting game where cards constantly get buffed and nerfed.
4. People will feel ripped off because now they're stuck with 'weak' Intrigue.
5. You'll have to deal with Roadrunner's crap.
6. Scout has become an invaluable part of the Dominion community!
7. Instead of messing with Scout, mess with future expansions. Simply add 2-3 cards that compliment Scout pretty well.
8. Scout will become retro, making it harder to obtain*.
9. Now it looks like Donald 'messed up,' even though Scout was just fine.
10. The cost of Scout could've been lowered.
11. +1 Action could've been added to Scout.
12. Intrigue doesn't need more terminal draw*.
13. Hiring an artist to make Patrol art is costly, right?
14. Secret Hideout is Fugitive.
15. Coppersmith isn't that bad, it didn't have to get dragged down too!
16. Intrigue doesn't need more terminal cards*.
17. Patrol isn't thematic. It's not intriguing, it's walking!
18. Someone could've bribed you.
19. Other people could've bribed you.
20. Kickstarter ^
21. Intrigue doesn't need more $5 cards*.
22. Patrol can draw 7 cards. Three Platinum and 4 Nobles. That's too much power!
23. Roadrunner's lengthy posts and others expressing sympathy for Roadrunner will cause the forums to run slower*.
24. Scout generates interesting discussion on the forums.
25. Some weird cult that sacrifices Patrols to The Great Scout Lord might pop up. Why risk it?
26. You could get sued. Somehow. And by 'you' I mean anyone reading this thread.
27. No one avoids Intrigue because Scout is in it and 'it's underpowered*.' So why spend time and money making a change like this?
28. Scout will be unimplemented from online Dominion*.
29. Scout will no longer be allowed at tournaments*.
30. When I pull Scouts out of my sleeve people will know I'm cheating.

* I have no idea if that's true.

#5 is the only one I recognise. But on the other hand, having to deal with your Scout crap isn't really related to whether or not Scout gets removed.

What's with the asterisks?

Will also point out that several of your points are invalid due to the fact that Donald went into this not looking to functionally change any existing cards. (well, masquerade's change is functional, but will rarely come up)

Preach it! Those cards should've been removed, as their power level has been significantly decreased.

#11 doesn't make sense.  It already gives (or gave) +1 Action.

An additional +1 Action, to make it a very powerful $4 Village.

Just cause you have 30 reasons doesn't mean they are good reasons.

At least I didn't do it advent calender style. I could've made a separate topic for each reason!

27. No one avoids Intrigue because Scout is in it and 'it's underpowered*.

Actually, underpowered cards like Scout definitely damaged my desire to get Intrigue.

You should have added "#11 is hilarious!" to the title to make it attract more clicks.

"11. +1 Action could've been added to Scout."

I am aware that you are not serious but I actually think that village-ifying Scout might have made it into a decent card, although probably still a tad too weak for a 4$.

30 reasons to show your point is invalid:

1. It's that underpowered
2. Adding a coin to this makes it not only stronger than Ruined Village, but also Ruined Mine! It would have to cost $1 then, which is sadly not allowed in Intrigue.
3. You suggested three buffs to scout in 30 reasons, but you don't want cards to be buffed? Also what the hell do game changes have to do with fighting games?
4. If you could produce evidence that Donald knew in 2009 that Scout is as awful as it is and already preplanned his 2ed for 7 years know, they might have a point.
5. Irrelevant, we had to deal with your shit way before Scout was killed. But now I can do it with a smug grin on my face, as I know my Scouts could end up in a campfire should I get fed up with the scout propaganda.
6. Hey we could introduce a day where we can talk about scout and its legacy. I suggest May 8th, in Germany it's already known as "liberation day".
7. That doesn't change anything about most of the games.
8. That's the point...?!
9. The thought that someone "messing up" and correcting their errors in some way inferior to sticking to your mistaken beliefs is outrageous.
10. That wouldn't change the opportunity cost which makes it one of the most expensive cards in Dominion, regardless of its price.
11. Or it could have taken its action away and added +3 cards instead, that might be useful. Also, why didn't it work on curses?
12. Intrigue needs less dead cards, most of the Dominion players are alive.
13. Cost is an irrelevant factor aslong as the return on investment is positive :)
14. This looks like random word generator. Do you mean Secret passage resembles Fugitive? Because that is not true at all, they serve vastly different purposes.
15. See, if Scout didn't drag down Csmith, it probably would have survived! #ScoutkilledCsmith
16. see #12
17. Yeah, we all know scouting is the essential part of an intrigue!
18. Please do bribe me, I'll say something nice about Scout!
19. Be the change you want to see in the world.
20. ^
21. see #16, then #12
22. Wait, are Dominion cards supposed to be good? I forgot since I had to write 21 lines about Scout just now.
23. see #5
24. Scout generates interesting mildly entertaining discussion shitposting on the forums
25. I've already figured out our main suspect. Forwarding to the FBI as we speak...
26. I could. I fear the International Court for Scout Rights very much.
27. Because the joy of seeing a Dominion player have even more fun with the game makes it worth it in a hearbeat. Also, it sells.
28. I would refer to you to #9, but I'll start repeating myself just like you did 20 reasons ago: That's the point!
29. Just organize your own scout tournament. But you know what they say: The best Scout kingdoms are the ones where upon looking at the board you come to the conclusion that your first move should be replacing the scout pile with a randomly chosen other one.
30. We all know that already, there is no need to pretend there.

I'm in for my 30. Man 10 is usually enough guys. That's a good solid list, 10 things.

30 Reasons Scout is dead:

1. It's that weak card from that set I was fixing up.
2. The art, ugh, man. There's like, I think it's a knee?
3. I could just do the same premise on a better card.
4. Secret hoard of Scouts will shoot up in value.
5. Shame.
6. Scout killed my father.
7. I blame society.
8. Now people know I can own up to mistakes.
9. It reminds me of simpler times. And I hate that.
10. It's like, woah. What if I got rid of Scout. Woah.
11. Didn't want people to find the Scout pin.
12. Now we'll all remember where we were when we heard the news. I was in this very chair.
13. Scout was the ultimate embodiment of evil.
14. I am the ultimate embodiment of evil.
15. Scout died so that it could live forever. The joke's on it though. Dying doesn't work that way.
16. It was suicide. That's what the coroner said. Case closed.
17. People just wouldn't stop it with the jokes. Well. There. Now are you happy?
18. It was either Scout or me, and it wasn't going to be me.
19. Scout never really loved me. Not even that night, when we danced on the rooftop in slow-mo.
20. A man can't play the same all-Intrigue game twice. He's not the same man, and... it's not the same Intrigue.
21. Scout knew too much. Mostly about chickens. Man shut up about chickens already.
22. Scout was just a bad dream. This is reality. Try pinching yourself. See, it hurts.
23. It was Patrol, in the Courtyard, with the Upgrade.
24. Inevitable next expansion will have a sub-theme of cards strictly better than Scout.
25. All cards go out of print eventually. Only a few ever draw you four copies of Nobles, with an Action left too.
26. I spilled a drink on some of my cards. I had to figure out a way to get RGG to send me another copy of Intrigue. Second edition. Bingo.
27. Since I was taking Estate Duchy and Province out of Intrigue, it only made sense to take out Scout with them.
28. Scout... out. It's like kismet. Destiny. Wait I've got a thesaurus. Fate. Predestination. Doom.
29. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long... and Scout burned so very brightly. I think there may be chemicals in the cardboard.
30. One day, the pile was just empty.
