270 to win
« on: October 25, 2016, 10:57:38 am »

Here's a game I just invented using just a map of the US.

One player takes a map of all the US states and colours it according to some arbitrary rule. The object of the game for the other players is to guess the arbitrary rule. The winner then follows up with his own rule and so on.

Here's an easy one to start you off:

Centuries later, archaeologists discover the remains of your ancient civilization.

Evidence of thriving towns, Pottery, roads, and a centralized government amaze the startled scientists.

Finally, they come upon a stone tablet, which contains but one mysterious phrase!

'ISOTROPIC WILL RETURN!'

Those are all the states whose names end in A.

States that are adjacent to no more than two states?

That one might be hard so I might give a little hint if people are having trouble with it.

If it's states that have a property vs states that don't have a property, knowing which group is which would be a good start! I'm drawing a blank right now.

Yeah, I think this is too hard.  Hopefully this helps without giving it away: The postal codes (on the map) are relevant, the names of the states are not

Oh!

Red = shares a letter of the postal code with a neighboring state.

Just noticed this thread still waiting for an answer to my problem.

Alas, I no longer remember the answer.  Maybe one of us will figure it out!
