Possession and Fools Gold

If I am possessing my opponent, and my opponent, controlled by me, buys a province, I can still trash a fools gold contained in my own hand, right?

No. Your opponent didn't gain the Province; Possession replaced that event with you gaining the Province. You can't reveal your Fool's Gold.
