oh this is hard really.
My tactics is to understand one's role and then move from this info. But I can't, because Assassin moves and there's always Follower and stuff.

Pretty much. I randomly chose a seat for the King, then I randomly chose a seat for the Assassin out of the two of distance 5 from the King, then I randomly distributed the rest, rerolling them if the Democrat and Diplomat were together (or both sides of the Assassin) until they weren't.
