I currently imagine mail-mi wearing a dark trenchcoat and a bowler hat, hunched over a bit, toothpick in his mouth, holding a gun in his pocket.  One bead of sweat trickling down his nose.

On phone, will do proper robber explanation thing on computer in a few hours. Basic idea was that we don't want to give scum robber safe claims.

I want to say that all claims are good to go. I'm going to share immediately as we are now under 24 hours to go

I am a lone mason

Talk about setup stuff I know because of that also comes in a few weeks

Back at computer. Time to type!

Does this game only last for one day phase?
Time to answer this+some other possibly ambiguous rules stuff

Yes. The game of One Night Ultimate Werewolf consists of one Night phase, one Day phase (which in our case ends in 17 hours, and a Vote. IRL, the votes are public but simultaneous, and, to simulate this, our votes will be given to mail-mi, who will then reveal who is lynched.
The player with (or players tied for*) the most votes is lynched. Note that this does not have to coincide with the majority. If 3 players get 1 vote each and one player gets 2 votes, the latter player is lynched. Note in this game that if the Hunter is lynched, whoever the Hunter voted for is also lynched

If a Werewolf is lynched, Town wins. Otherwise, the Werewolves win.

Note that player's alignments and roles for the sake of the endgame (in this case, be you werewolf/villager or Hunter) are dependent on your current card.

Because of the short and singular day, claims often start the day unless there is a pressing to do otherwise. In this case, the Robber is the only card that can change player's alignments/etc.

The main idea behind forcing Robber to claim first this game is that, if they had stolen from scum and therefore became scum, but some town other than the Amnesiac had already claim, the Robber can simply claim that they stole from the aforementioned claimant instead of telling the truth (bad idea) or remaining silent (not good idea, as it gives town information and reduces possibilities of future claims).

Both.

In a lone wolf scenario we have won already (2 vote for me and 2 for LaLight, we go for each other). In a two wolf scenario it does become more tricky. Is there any way we can possibly find out, haven't seen something when looking to the setup.

Excuse me? Firstly there is 5 players. Secondly in a lone Wolf scenario we must lynch you to win. (same with 2-wolf), so the only option here is to convince everyone you're werewolf.

Also we should not forget the possibility, that Robber could steal your card and you're not Werewolf anymore so you should find one and Lynch him. Consider it.

*with the exception of everyone receiving one vote each, which is the only way to do a nolynch. In this case, if there are no werewolves in the village, Town wins! Otherwise, as usual for no werewolf lynch, town loses.

If the Drunk is here, they should freely claim as right now their odds of being town are at least 2/3. That is to say, we know that there is at least one Werewolf already in the village (regardless of the current fiasco going down) as (this is a lot of logic cases. I'll try to be organized)
Assuming you trust me:
  • Assuming there is no Robber in the village, there are the other Mason and the Robber in the center, meaning that there can be no more than 1 werewolf in the center. (and also at least one in the village).
  • Assuming there is a lying Robber in the village, they are scum** and therefore there's one in the village, there can be no more than 1 werewolf in the center.
Assuming you don't trust me:
  • I'm lying scum, therefore there's one in the village, and no more than 1 in the center

You most certainly not be voted for (<=1/3 chance scum) over one of LaL or Cal ("1/2" chance scum)

Everyone has claimed not to be a robber. And yeah, thought we are 6. So, yes, we must lynch the right werewolf to win. An early claim was indeed a quite clever way to start the day, it guarantees a winning chance of greater than 50% since you are considered more likely town when being the first to claim. Though that claim doesn't make sense from a town narrative.

Insomaniac provides additional information in regard to robber which makes robber a more dangerous fakeclaim. With your claim, fakeclaiming robber would have been quite safe to claim for scum.

AHoppy and RR, let's hear some claims from you.

Cal and LaL, how much of One Night have each of you played?

Cal, I can't help but wonder how you were active in other threads but didn't even think to look over here. (is this metagameyish/rude? if so I will stop and apologize) Any thing else you'd like to comment on that? Or perhaps, sure there was no other reason you waited to comment?

LaL, what made you think early Robber claim was a bad idea?

Any questions or clarifications you'd all like to hear from me?

**WIFOM always applies, along with half of what I've always said but working mostly off of base assumptions here.

PPE: 5, will reply
