The Tactician opening looks pretty awful to me. In fact, using Tactician here looks like fooling around, much in the same vein as Scout purchases. Then again, I am not nearly as good a player. I think I would have much preferred to play a Torturer BM game here. There's just nothing else that stands out as acceptable. Yes, even for a Colony board.

The Tactician opening looks pretty awful to me. In fact, using Tactician here looks like fooling around, much in the same vein as Scout purchases. Then again, I am not nearly as good a player. I think I would have much preferred to play a Torturer BM game here. There's just nothing else that good here.
I got the tacticion to get an early platinum. It could be wrong.

I mean, it could possibly work. I still like the Torturer more. It's basically a Militia unless your opponent really loves his hand.

Is there some value here in single Tac, two Torturer as payload? Probably not, but that's the only thing other than "Torturer BM and maybe some Lighthouses" that this board inspires.

lookouts are also more appealing than usual, one trasher tends to be helpful in colony games i think because silvers suck so bad

Instead of screwing around with anything else, maybe just rush down IW-GH-Estate?  Get some Lighthouses to counter Torturer.
