You're gonna want to lynch me if he flips town though!

Probably too big a decision to make while phone-posting from the middle of a business meeting :-P

Urgh :-( I'd never hammered before and I was nervous!

Reflecting more, though, it's genuinely true that Chairs isn't my top scum read, so I think it's legitimate to be hesitant while there's till time left in the day.

If Chairs flips scum, then great! That's one fewer scum out there, and n left to find. I'm not sure what my belief in him being scum is... maybe 50%? It's a high-variance estimate because he hasn't said much.

If Chairs flips town, I'm pretty sure being the one with the hammer and being under lots of earlier general suspicion means that there's a high chance I end up dangling tomorrow, which means two townies die. Now, we might get new info in the night that would help clear me or move suspicion to someone else, but info is usually not that concrete, so let's say it would lose us a probabilistic 1.75 townies.

So.. is it worth a 50/50 chance of one scum vs 1.75 townies, with the game set-up as it is? My reasoning fails here because I just don't have a clear enough picture of what the total game space might look like. Can anyone with more experience put themself in my shoes for long enough to lend a hand with the likelihoods?

Okay, but it's a 50% chance of one scum, and a 50% chance of 1.75 towns. So it's a bit like having a 36% chance of getting scum. Should I take that?

Don't take it for granted that we will lynch you tomorrow if chairs is town. If you really are town and you play well, you will be able to find a way to stay alive.

Have a little faith in yourself. "I can't keep myself alive" is an absolutely terrible reason to lynch someone.

Besides, I'm much more likely to lynch you tomorrow if chairs flips scum than if he flips town.

Day 2 End

After hours sheltering in the little pocket of serenity, debating at length their best options for how to progress, the pilots, relieved at first, started to get edgy.  Noone could quite forget: there was a good chance the missing ships had been destroyed by someone in their little group.

Tensions grew high, debate turned to argument, and argument to rage.  It wasn't long before people started pointing fingers.  One of the Raptors drifted carelessly close to the centre of the little group, and immediately there was uproar.

"Raptor, what are you doing?"
"Trying to take us all out at once, is that it?"

No response.

"Quick, shoot them!"

This time there came a brief, impassioned plea:
"No, I just lost control, I'm not an experience pilot like you all are, don't -"
BOOM.  Several Vipers had opened fire at once, cutting off the doomed Raptor midsentence.  As they stared at the expanding shrapnel, someone caught a glimpse of long, black hair; it was the President!  What had they done?

Apparently the explosion had dislodged the stability of the bubble where the pilots had been hiding; within seconds the green haze started to close in around them once more...

chairs has been lynched.  They were Laura Roslin, the Vanilla Colonist.

Day 3 Start

With some indiscriminate transmissions, the remaining voyagers decided to continue onwards, further through the cloud. They drifted, separate and alone, much less talkative now. The odd disembodied message flew through the ether from time to time, keeping them on track, but little more. As such, it took a while to realise that there were fewer different voices than their should have been.

Someone had disappeared again, and now only seven remained...

silverspawn died during the night.  They were Sherman "Doc" Cottle, the Delayed Doctor.

Day 3 begins now and will end at 5pm forum time, 12th September.

It’s all so pointless. We kill them, and they kill us, so we kill more of them, so they kill more of us. What’s the point anymore?

Not Voting (7): Calamitas, diedre91, gkrieg13, iguanaiguana, mail-mi, Roadrunner7671, SpaceAnemone

With 7 alive, it takes 4 to lynch.

I currently imagine mail-mi wearing a dark trenchcoat and a bowler hat, hunched over a bit, toothpick in his mouth, holding a gun in his pocket.  One bead of sweat trickling down his nose.

Yeah.. but you weren't around, and almost everyone seemed to be agreeing that chairs was shady :-(

I guess an upside to Silver's death is that it really confirms Iguana as IC too. Unless there's a way we could have a tracker who's scum-aligned. Could we? I'm assuming the probability is very low.

Silver said he considered gkrieg an IC too, and presumably also knew he was a likely night target, so probably wasn't lying about it.

The person I'd like to hear a lot more from today is diedre.
