Perfection. That’s what it’s about. It’s those moments. When you can feel the perfection of creation. The beauty of physics, you know, the wonder of mathematics. The elation of action and reaction, and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to.

Also, for pronouns, would you like to try they/their (see fix in #310) or she/her? Thanks! :-)

Just to make sure, you want me to use she/her for you?

Well, I was enjoying the fact that nobody had pronouned me at all up till that point, in either of the f.ds games I'm in :-P

She/her is what I use IRL, but I like that Haddock chose to introduce me here in a gender-neutral way, so I'm also really happy to keep being "they". I'm really not a fan of binary gender as a concept.

Not happy being labelled scum either, but I'll go and do some reading now!

Ok sounds good.  I will go with they/them when I remember, but will probably go with she/her as a rule, because using they/them can be difficult for me to remember.

I don't like the way he is helping my chairs case for some reason.

Why? I thought it was a good case, and then chairs' reaction made him seem scummier to me.

I guess it was just that you didn't seem genuine for some reason.  Just didn't feel right.  Especially the way you are jumping on the diedre wagon now.

I still think chairs is scummy. But I want diedre to show up and do something in the game.

Has space been absent here? Lemme check when I'm on a computer.

Okay, I need to get posting some thoughts!

First up, town: Calamitas and Silver both seem more solvy and helpful here than I've seen them elsewhere.

Nulls: RR, Iguana, diedre.

Slight scum: Mail-mi, because of the way the mislynch of teamlyle got started.

Scum: Chairs. I'm not sure whether pushing that wagon to L-2 is a great idea now that we have a precedent for invisible votes, though -- would people in general be comfortable with that?

Really not sure: Gkrieg. I mean, I want to believe he's solvy town, but there are a few tiny threads that don't quite sit right for me. The first is the exchange below with Silver, since I agree that Seprix's words as quoted look like a hedgey attack, rather than a defence.

Kinda defends silverspawn here:

On the other hand EFHW's and iguana's reactions to my posts just seem more natural for someone who's a lot more social than me. Silver's looking to exploit the opportunity

Yeah, SS's reads feel opportunistic to me as well. He plays that way though, but considering he's been scum pretty much every time lately, I would still present that as part of a potential case.

That is not a defense. That is an attack.

The second thing was that in post #252, he picked out Seprix's use of the word "trait" in post #237 ("Also, can double voting or hating be a town trait?"), and said "Not too much to go off of, but he was definitely dropping that he was a traitor like the whole game". That would be fine, but Seprix's words were mimicking Chair's language of post #230 ("I'd actually argue hated is more likely a Town trait, in this theme, but that's just me."), and given that he's also building a case on Chairs, something feels contradictory about his not mentioning that.

Last and possibly least, there was a comment quite early in D1 from Gkrieg about liking the new Mail-mi, but at that point I didn't think Mail-mi had said all that much, so I found it odd. I have no idea what Mail-mi was like previously, though, and haven't read any Mail-mi games, so it may just be such a marked difference that even with a handful of posts it was obvious.

Sorry for not being that active as you are guys. Got pretty busy week.
I did not expect that much commitment from the players.
As I told already, it is also my first game. It is hard to follow the posts sometimes.
Here it goes what I think, how I see other players.

silverspawn: Scum. His comments sound pretty scummy. Also convinced by the others.
SpaceAnemone: Town. Not much to say.
gkrieg: Not sure. Very active. It could be that he is playing like this to fool us.
Roadrunner: Since the beggining I though he was town. That is why I told he was wrong about voting on me. I still believe he is town.
chairs: Scum. gkrieg and Calamitas convinced me.
iguana: Town. Few posts but seems trustworthy.
mail-mi: no idea. Pretty confused about him.
Calamitas: Town. Pretty sure about this one.

Yeah, I assume Haddock just meant "today's deadline" as in the end of D2, but it's also true that we're meant to keep posting in the game. I assume the forum being down for more than 26 hours means we get a beak on the 24-hour rule.

I'm not currently voting for Chairs, but I do think he's currently looking scummiest just now, so that could easily change. I don't want hasty voting when there have already been hidden votes messing with things, hence wanting some input from the oldies before I vote. Unless they don't show up for hours and hours and I just get bored... :-P

I'm genuinely amazed that my previous post wasn't clear. :P By "today's deadline" I meant "the end of D2", which is now 7pm, 3 September.

Of course the 24h posting rule does not apply if the forum has been down for a lengthy period.

I agree that this is more of an attack. The point was that Seprix actually mentioned something about him, which he didn't do for most of the players that are playing.  Actually rereading this again, makes me even more sure that silver must be mafia.

Also look at his first post in the game where he says that he is a traitor.  I was not implying anything in #237 as saying he was a traitor.  Just reread his whole D1 and tell me that you don't think he was dropping heavy hints that he was a traitor.

The fact that mail-mi posted multiple times in the beginning stages of the game is a huge difference for mail-mi.  I mean he really used to not do too much.  He would only post about once every 24 hours and even then it wouldn't usually be that helpful.  HUGE lurker, so I'm happy to see that he is participating a ton more, because I like his insights.  It makes it hard to read him though because his meta changed so dramatically.

This post seems pretty townie.  Has enough original thought, and feels genuine.  You get bumped up on my townie list.

Sorry, forum downtime hit when I came on to catch up.

There's a lot here, but if I understand properly the basic argument that I haven't addressed is that I was signalling (when I put teamlyle at L-1) for the hidden vote. Is that an accurate description of the case on me?

...

That is the most ridiculous bullshit I've ever heard. I said I was interested in playing out the L-1 vote because of the following reasons:
1) Teamlyle's post was basically "if I did it" levels of scummy to me.
2) I wanted to see if anybody on-wagon quickly dropped - since I thought teamlyle was scum, this could potentially have indicated a partner wanting to not bus D1.

I was actually pretty goddamn upset about finding out the vote counts were not reliable information as hidden votes are kind of Bastard material in my personal opinion (since it's basically mod lying), but such is life. It's not a death miller (if there's a death miller in this setup I swear I'm done with Mafia forever), so it's a bit arguable re: Bastard v Normal.

I haven't done an updated-for-D2 reads list, but I'm going to go ahead and quickly provide the reads list I made on D1:

Reads - D1, v1: (TT - T - N - S - SS)

1. silverspawn - T
2. SpaceAnemone - N
3. gkrieg - N
4. Roadrunner - S
5. Seprix - S
6. chairs - FREE SPACE
7. iguana - SS
8. mail-mi - T
9. EFHW - S
10. diedre91 - N
11. teamlyle - SS
12. Calamitas - S
