Not sure when the cards will come out here, but would anyone be interested in meeting up when they do?

Do you have a particular place in mind? I am definitely interested. Currently I am in northern germany but maybe i could combine my travel plans with a dominion meetup  :)

Potentially, if it's somewhere with an airport that flies from London for not too much.

Anyone who can make it to Reading, UK, I'll play ya.  Not sure I've ever hit my dominion limit.

I'd be up for it in Eastern Finland. Especially around Joensuu and Savonlinna.

I'll be in Edingburgh in the last week of July, I'll do another City trip sometime in late August probably, maybe we can make something work somewhere?

You're in Reading?  INTERESTING.  I'm in Oxford, several friends in Reading.

Sure am!  Oxford, eh?  I used to run a homeless hostel in Oxford, and you do have the luxury of the only board game cafe I've ever heard of.  Nice city.

I tend not to leave Reading if I can avoid it.  If you come here, I can find us a venue probably, for a game or six.  I might even travel to Oxford; the trains are pretty decent.

You struggle for IRL opponents in Oxford?  I've basically got only one friend who'll play me here.  All the others either don't care for the game or feel I've gotten too good at it :(

Yeah it's a beautiful place to live.

Sadly I'm really unlikely to have time to be coming to Reading any time soon!
I host a games night, so tend to get my fill of Dominion pretty regularly, but people are definitely getting increasingly frustrated with me lately.  Other games abound and I play online more and more.
If I ever am in Reading I'll let you know!

I'm also pretty close to Reading and Oxford and would be up for some Empires.

Well ced, Joseph, you are both very welcome to join me and my pal in Reading when Empires comes out for a big ol' session. Heck, because of my... links... to the University, I could host a much greater number of people if needed, so the more the merrier.

The only problem is the lack of a firm UK release date.  If we knew that, we could plan something now.  My FLGS has it on pre-order for me, but the first I'll hear is probably a phone call when it arrives.

Also, ced, saying you're pretty close to Reading and Oxford and not elaborating will lead people to believe you live in Slough.  You have been warned. :)

Yeah, that sounds great. Just let us know when you get your hands on it and we can all sort out a day.

Also, of course I don't live in Slough. I live somewhere immeasurably worse  :P

believe you live in Slough.
Come friendly bombs, etc.

If this is gonna be a proper thing, maybe I'd be tempted to see if I can find time, too.  Count me in!

Basingstoke.  Got it.

Hey, I guess it's a proper thing if we say it is.

So what I plan to do is:

1) Obtain a copy of Empires.  From the news this morning, it sounds like that's been pushed back a little.  Nay bother.
2) PM you guys (ced, Joseph, Haddock) to try and find a mutually acceptable date.
3) Once agreed, advertise the date on f.ds to see if there are any further interested parties.
4) Confirm the exact venue a few days ahead of time.  It will be Reading, but options such as my place, my mate's place, our FLGS and one of my Uni holdings would be options dependent on numbers.
5) Mercilessly crush you all with a host of new cards.  :)

This sounds interesting, I haven't played with "real" cards for years.
I'm near Gloucester, so could make it on Saturday or Sunday.

I will be going to America for a couple weeks this June, so I can try to pick up a box of Empire cards and come back to Europe with it. I am near Geneva, which is just a cheap 80 minute flight from anywhere in Europe.

I'm still toying with the idea of making this happen, I won't be able to travel until late August or so, though.

If anyone comes to Northern Germany and wants to play, let me know :)

I hope to have it in Karlsruhe, (Southern) Germany, within a week. A coworker from Portland, OR, has promised to bring it with him, provided the FLGS still has a copy...

I live in Mannheim. I could come to such a meeting if it's open to all  :).. Depends on the day, though.

Northern Germany is great; I'm in Berlin. I might also come to a meeting in southern Germany, though I didn't plan to go there until like end of July. I guess I might be willing to change plans.
