Pro-tip: always check the link URL before clicking.  It'll appear in one of the bottom corners of your browser.  For example, you check this link before clicking on it.  You can clearly see that it's not a Youtube video, and thus safe.

I'm not going to ignore anybody either, but more because I don't know what it would do to threads.  Will it hide the thread entirely?  Only that user's posts?  Other users' posts where they are quoted?  None of those effects are desirable to me.

And there's yet to be somebody who I thought was ignore-worthy.  I'm not sure I'd ignore even those who have been banned.

I didn't even bother checking the link before scrambling to find out how I could have accidentally ignored a user. I fumbled through my profile to find my ignore list. It was empty.

Only after seeing my empty ignore list did I come back to this thread to read the other posts to see if everyone else was seeing what I was seeing.

I know that link isn't safe at all. Awaclus tricked me with that once before, I know to fear the "board=50.0" link. I always check links, I even knew it linked to a YouTube video, but I just had to click it, just like I have to reveal the Moat every time.

The thread still shows, but it will replace all of that person's posts in the thread with a post that says "You are ignoring this user. (Show post anyway)"

I have used it on three people who I feel routinely give bad fan card ideas and one person who I feel routinely gives bad strategy advice. Sometimes I still read their posts by clicking Show post anyway, but it's nice to be reminded that I'm going to be annoyed by whatever I read before I read it so that I'm prepared beforehand.

I definitely didn't ignore any of the people who got banned because those people have been pretty hilarious.

Yes. I think that "programming" in this case means that he just used the features that are already present in SMF though, but I might be mistaken.
