Remodel-BM isn't a thing.
Remodel is worth opening with when most of the following hold:
- there are good 2s worth remodeling copper into
- there are not key 5s to hit
- there's a strong payload for an engine but no other good trashing to get there
- you anticipate being able to use your remodel often
Remodel is worth picking up later in the game when some of the following hold:
- there are good 2s worth remodeling copper/curse into
- it is easy to pick up thanks to a workshop etc. that you have anyway
- there are useful early cards that become dead (sea hag)
- you are ahead and want to burn the province pile
- there is a way to gain gold (mint/soothsayer/tunnel), especially if +buy is otherwise limited
- specific combos e.g. peddler
- it is a slog and you can reliably gain duchies or remodel curses into estates
Thats wrong, in early game remodeling copper is terrible as you lose economy from remodel+copper pair and 2 cost cards aren't very hot.
Correct one for opening remodel is that there is good 4 to remodel estates and getting 5 on second shuffle isn't urgent.
You should pick remodel in midgame if you play engine, game last longer than 13 turns, you have enough actions and there is no better remodeler than remodel. While improving deck midgame by turning estates into 3/4 cost and silver into five costs its worth picking for endgame control alone.
You dont have to rely on duchy dancing much versus opponent without remodel, when there are two provinces left you could buy province and remodel gold/province into province for win or remodel five cost into duchy on last turn.
