It's time for another one of these Cincinnati Dominion tournaments. This one will be mostly 2-player games (which means no official RGG-sanction, no promo cards, no GenCon qualifier, but hey 2P games!) and I've doubled the potential prize pool for this one! This means that the entry fee will be $10 instead of $5.
The other big change is that even though I'll be doing most of the promotion and organizing for this tournament, I'm actually going to be able to compete in this one! Do you think you can take me on? (you can) Come out and see if you can be one of the proud few who crushes me!
So this means that most of the day-of organizing/formatting stuff has been automated. My friend will take care of moderating the tournament and answering rules questions, as well as preparing all of the kingdoms so that I have no extra knowledge of what to expect and have no unfair advantage. You'll get all of the benefits of my experience in organizing these things, but you'll have your chance to take me down. Man, I feel like Robert Irvine. If this goes well, I may participate in 2P tournaments in the future. I don't plan on playing in any of the RGG-sanctioned tournaments, though.
Anyways, the location and time for this is pretty much the same as all of my other tournaments.
Game Swap in Mason :
1065 Reading Rd. / Mason, OH 45040. There will be the usual weekly game night for the group I moderate as well, people will start showing up between 3-5PM, right about when the first round of eliminations are made, so you'll have the chance to play all kinds of other board games (or maybe some more Dominion) with lots of cool people after you're done with the tournament.
The entry fee will be $10. For each entry into the tournament, $8 will be put into the prize pool. All prizes will be given in store credit. The top three or four players will be given portions of the prize pool (depending on how many people enter the tournament). I have a reference document that gives the format of the tournament
here; I reserve the right to make changes to it up until the tournament starts, but don't expect to see any significant changes.
I'll be following this thread, if you have any questions or if you want to let me know that you're coming, just reply here, PM me, or send me an E-mail at
adam@adamhorton.com and I'll get back to you. You don't have to let me know in advance that you plan to be there, but it helps me out a lot for preparing for the tournament.
I hope to see you all there.
