Trashing Rats with Lookout

I was under the impression that I would get that extra card, but this wasn´t the case.
In this case I was using a Band of Misfits as a Lookout.

You should get a card, but it happens when the cards revealed by Lookout are still in the reveal area, so if you only have 3 cards remaining in your deck you would fail to draw a card because your deck is empty at the moment the Rats is trashed.

Is it possible that is what happened?

yes, this could have been the case. I am 98% sure.
