f.ds MTG Online play?

I know we tried to organize a draft or something like ages ago, and it didn't work well.

However, since then some things changed. Now there is a online, free client (xmage) and you can play all formats there, make tourneys - including drafts/cubes of all sorts. It also implement rules i.e. it's automated.

I am MalReynolds there, usually on german server. If somebody is up for some games you can message me (best here, also any format works), or if there is enough interested parties we can make a draft or some other kind tourney.

That Xmage client looks like a really good way to play MtG. Alas, I am a complete MtG noob who only knows the basic rules and doesn't know where to begin making a deck. Plus I don't want to spread my gaming time too thin during my school semester.

I haven't really played before so don't know how bad it was, still disconnects happen sometimes, tho not too often. It has some bugs, mostly with windows that open (Resolving Jace, AoT's -2 can be a pain sometimes), but is generally enjoyable.

We can possibly set something up (few game, maybe a small tourney or w/e) next week, would be cool.

I haven't tried that one. There's http://draft.bestiaire.org/, which has lots of sets, and http://mtgmirror.com/, which lets you draw from the deck afterwards.

I don't really see why I would prefer to play magic with f.ds people rather than play magic with other people.

It's just a very basic thing about how people function. A group of people get together on some forums because of shared interest in something. Then they play mafia, they talk about politics. It's not that it's better to talk about politics with fellow Dominion fans; it's that, those are the people they're hanging out with, and that's a thing they like to do with people they hang out with.

I'm there for you, whether you need a question answered, or just an excuse to put yourself down.
