Without Bonfire, turn three has to be Raze trashing itself, as no other trashing card can remove itself from your deck. So one of the turns has to involve buying at least Rase, and you have to trash 10 cards in basically one turn? I'm really lost here.

Plan might be of help. I still can't figure out a way but it might involve buying a one-shot with the trashing token on it.

It might also involve a Bomb from Dominion: Gunpowder expansion.

Welcome to the Forums! There is a drawback with you being new here, since if/when we get stuck we might begin to suspect that there is something wrong with the puzzle a lot sooner than we would if it was by someone we already knew knows their stuff.

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything that gets anywhere close here.  There are a bunch of one-shots that can remove themselves, but the limitations put on which cards you can get seems to rule out any options that seem viable to me.

I had an idea that I thought was working until I realized I was breaking one rule and totally misplaying another. It also required 3 events and a bunch of twisting of the given restrictions.

For the sake of hilarity, here's my dirty cheater's solution:

Open CCCCC

Turn 1
Use Baker Token and Borrow to buy Inheritance, setting aside Band of Misfits (First error: BoM is too expensive for Inheritance)
Draw EEEC

Turn 2
Play BoM-Estate #1 as Hamlet (Second error: BoM-Estate only costs $2 and can't mimic anything except Poor House)
Draw C, Discard C for 1 Action.
Play BoM-Estate #2 as Doctor, naming Copper. Trash 3 Copper
Play BoM-Estate #3 as Doctor, naming Copper, Trash 3 Copper
Draw EEEC

Turn 3
Play BoM-Estate 1-3 as Mining Village trashing all.
Buy Summon and set aside Money Lender.
Draw C

Turn 4
Start of turn: Summoned Money Lender trashes the last Copper.
The instructions only restrict Duration Cards from play, so this is technically a legal state for Turn 4.

With that loophole in mind, if you could get down to 4 Coppers on Turn 2, you could use a Baker Token to Summon Chapel and be left with nothing but a Chapel in play at the start of Turn 4. I don't see anyway to get to that state either though.

Raze + forge + Chapel seems to be probably involved.

Mining village allows for 2 actions; and to destroy itself afterwards.

Count, maybe?

  • You must not buy or gain one of the following cards: Band of Misfits, Doctor, Bonfire, Trade

You may buy up to two different Events.

Troll answer: Bonfire is an event, you never gain the card and technically you don't "buy" events. Since you don't "buy events" I can use as many as I want and also use Bonfire.

Begin turn 4 with no cards in your hand, deck, discard pile, your Tavern or Island mat and no Duration cards in play.

Also Troll answer: maybe we can allow a card being set aside with Save to not count?

(shuffle [CCCCC EEECC])
T1: draw and play CCCCC + Baker token + Borrow - Inherit Mining Villages
T2: draw EEEC, play three Estate-Mining-Villages, drawing C (shuffle [CCCCC]) CC. Play 3C, Bonfire, trashing 2C.
T3: draw CCC (shuffle [EEECC]) EE. Play three Estate-Mining-Villages, trashing all for $6. play 4C, Save a Copper, do Travelling Fair and two Bonfires. All you have left is a Copper which is being set aside with Save.

I dunno, man, if there is a solution that really works with all of these rules that aren't just playing off weird wording to make weird loopholes, I think you should just post it. If it's legit you will get many +1s. I don't think anyone else is really going to capture the spirit of this puzzle if you wait longer.

EDIT: Maybe some abuse of the solo Possession rules can allow for this?

Here is one way to do it in 5 moves instead of 3.

  • Open CCCCC and with a coin from Baker buy Travelling Fair, Raze, Chapel, putting Chapel on top
  • Chapel away 4 of your starting cards, shuffle and draw Chapel with another four of your starting cards
  • Chapel away 4 or your starting cards.
  • Now you only have Chapel, Raze and 2 or your starting cards left. Chapel away the 2 remaining starting cards.
  • Raze.

Welcome to the Forums! There is a drawback with you being new here, since if/when we get stuck we might begin to suspect that there is something wrong with the puzzle a lot sooner than we would if it was by someone we already knew knows their stuff.

I this vein I suspected for awhile that your were meant to get Mission with Alms along the way to have fewer moves, and that was the solution. Of course you may not, since Alms is just for gaining a card. But that couldn't have been it, anyway, since I'm using three Events in that case. Back to the drawing board.

This is pretty good, but takes 1 more turn, because on turn 5 you have to Raze the Chapel, and then Turn 6 Raze can trash itself.

A new idea I had was to use Mint, but I still can't get anything faster than 6 turns.

Turn 1 Mint
Turn 2 Chapel
Turn 3 Trash EEEM with Chapel
Turn 4 Trash CC with Chapel, use Baker/Borrow to buy Raze
Turn 5 Raze Chapel
Turn 6 Raze Raze

Hey, Mint is a card, what about this:

(shuffle [CCCCC EEECC])
T1: draw and play CCCCC + Baker token + Borrow - Inherit Mining Villages
T2: draw EEEC, play three Estate-Mining-Villages, drawing C (shuffle [CCCCC]) CC Trash two of them for $4. Play 4C, Travelling Fair, Ferry on Mints, Expedition.
T3: draw CCC (shuffle [ECCCC]) ECCC. Play Estate-Mining-Village, trash it. Play 7C, Summon a Mint, trashing everything.

All you have left is a Mint which is being set aside with Summon, which more clearly fits the rules. This also does not use Bonfire. I think I got it within the letter of the rules (the only shady thing at this point is that I'm using six Events now).

I like it, but Mint's trash is on buy, and Summon gains it right?

Okay, I have two hints:

- Baker is in the kingdom.
- The events are Travelling Fair and Alms.

New thoughts (based on the hints)...

If you can get to $7 you could buy Travelling Fair and Mint to trash Coppers and then topdeck a chapel with Alms.  I don't think I can get to $7 on turn 1 without Borrow though.

Could you clarify whether the loopholes in your rules are intentional? So are we allowed to have set-aside cards (Summon, Prince, Haven), on other mats (Native village) or non-duration cards in play? Or should we really follow the thread title: trash all our cards?

I think we all missed the boat here guys.  We just need to thrash our last card.  You were all thinking of ways to trash your last card.

I'll give you the opening: Pay Baker token, buy Travelling Fair, topdecking Raze and Chapel.

I'll give you the opening: Pay Baker token, buy Travelling Fair, topdecking Raze and Chapel.

Raze the Estate - draw a Copper
Chapel 2E2C

Draw 4C and Chapel
Trash 4C

This still leaves you with both Chapel and Raze though. You can't trash anything but Chapel the turn you use Raze to trash Chapel, and you need a whole 'nother turn to trash Raze

This means the last turn we can't play any cards other than raze right?  So we need our deck state to be 5c at the end of t2?

I'll give you the opening: Pay Baker token, buy Travelling Fair, topdecking Raze and Chapel.

Raze the Estate - draw a Copper
Chapel 2E2C

Draw 4C and Chapel
Trash 4C

This still leaves you with both Chapel and Raze though. You can't trash anything but Chapel the turn you use Raze to trash Chapel, and you need a whole 'nother turn to trash Raze

Also, when you play Raze, even on an Estate you still decrease your hand size by one, so you can only trash 4 cards on Turn 2 regardless of whether you topdeck Raze and Chapel or just Raze.

If there is a solution, I have the feeling Mint is involved. If I add Borrow as a 3rd event, I can get down to just Chapel on Turn 4 with:

T1: 5C + Baker + Borrow
Buy Travelling Fair, Mint, Alms for Chapel (topdeck)
      Draw Chapel, 3xEstate
T2: Chapel trash the 3 Estates
Draw 2x Copper, Mint, Chapel (Could Alms here, but I can't find anything useful.
T3: Trash everything left with Chapel

At that point you could use Alms to get Raze, but it would take 2 turns to clear the rest of your deck out.

Here's another nice way to get down to just chapel in three turns using just three events and two kingdom cards

T1: 2 Copper, 3 Estate. Use Baker coin token, buy expedition
T2: 7 Copper. Buy Travelling fair, mint, alms for chapel
T3: Mint, 3 Estate, Chapel. Chapel everything.

This is pretty good, but takes 1 more turn, because on turn 5 you have to Raze the Chapel, and then Turn 6 Raze can trash itself.

Yeah, I realized that and deleted (but too late).

Another way to get to Chapel + Raze in four moves (this time without needing Baker coin) is
1. Summon Chapel (11 cards)
2. Chapel 5 cards, buy Alms for Raze (7 cards)
3. Chapel 4 cards (3 cards)
4. Chapel (or Raze) 1 card
