Just Bought

Just bought three games: Sushi Go!, Lost Cities and Codenames at my local board gaming store (shameless plug for GameNightGames if you are in the SLC area).

These three games need to fit into three slots.

1. Christmas present for brother and sister in-law
2. Christmas present for wife
3. Game for Thanksgiving trip with extended family

I don't know which game to fit into which spot. Obviously, I want to immediately open all three of them and play immediately. The one that is going with the the in-laws I won't get to play much as they live in Portland. The other two I will own, but which one to play with this weekend, and which one to sit on?

Help me decide?

Do you want to give your in-laws the best present possible?  How into board games are your in-laws and what kinds of games do they like?  Are they likely to do a lot of gaming on their own, or would they be playing a lot with others?  Likewise for you and your wife?

I don't know much about Lost Cities.  Sushi Go is a nice filler game that's easy to teach and great for new gamers, though I think the game gets samey very quickly.  It's also not the best for just 2 players.  Codenames is a thinky party game that also works well for many different gamers.

I'd probably go for Codenames to play immediately.

We've been playing codenames on the board here and it's so much fun.

Lost Cities is a 2-player game only.

Codenames works with at least 4 players, so I'd go with it for Thanksgiving. Definitely not Lost Cities for that.
