Favorite Treasure?

Hello F.DS! What is your favorite treasure and why? Not just the one you think is the most powerful. I made a poll for funzies.
(And I even included Copper, because I know someone is going to come on and complain about how they love copper because you can buy it for $0 with 8 Goons in play, etc. etc. etc.)

I am a HUGE fan of Venture! I love how it searches out other treasures and puts them into play for me. Especially if it skips over curses and VP cards in the process. It’s fun to have a hand of two ventures and be not know if you’re going to get a hand of $4 all the way up to a hand of $12.

Voted Counterfeit. Trashes copper while providing some benefit, and has utility later in the game with "bigger" treasures, especially with that +Buy.

Hm, I selected the wrong guy.  Can you change your vote?

My favorite is Counterfeit.  It has the choice to trash; trashing gives an additional benefit, and it has +buy (regardless of what option you choose).  It can clear out your Coppers earlier in the game, and "cannibalize" your better treasures to spike key buys when the game is almost over.

You could get an unlimited amount of coins from two Ventures by hitting Diadem or Philosopher's Stone. Without those unbounded treasures, you could still get as much as 37 coins with two Ventures if the first hits Counterfeit, playing the second twice, which hits the other 8 Ventures and 2 Banks.

Horn of Plenty megaturns are fun, so obvious choice for me.

Horn is the most interesting to play, so it wins for me.  2nd place is Hoard, which is a lot of fun, and Treasure Trove is also really enjoyable with the physical cards.

I went to go add that to the poll options, but aparently I can't edit that anymore. ... So.... NO!  ;D

edit: Woo! someone voted for Copper.

I chose Counterfeit, but could have chosen Loan or HoP too.

Totally not surprised to see Counterfeit leading the pack as of this writing.

But, I am surprised to see that only one person had voted for Quarry before me.  Quarry!  It can even be good without +buy; in a good engine it's just incredible.

It was me! I voted for Quarry cause most treasures are implicitly boring. HoP and Counterfeit (and Contraband is fun to play against!) probably being the two exceptions. Quarry is the card that gets you more actions cards. You know the actual fun stuff... So Quarry is a means to an end, plus the effect itself is fun to use.

Tailsman and a few others do as well, but Quarry is the best at getting you good actions, in higher numbers and more quickly and ultimately that is where the fun in Dominion is, the really good 4+ action cards.

I also voted Quarry! I would have voted Horn of Plenty because I love megaturn engines, but I kinda suck at actually playing Horn of Plenty megaturn engines correctly. So Quarry is another awesome engine treasure in a more supporting role.

Quarry! For me, the combination of Quarry and Grand Market is one of the funniest to play in the whole game. Ever bought a GM on T6? :D

I voted for Contraband.

I know it isn't great and is usually ignorable, but when you do want it I really enjoy what it brings to the game. Both in terms of what to block your opponent from buying and thinking of a plan B incase your first choice cards get blocked.

It's possible to get it on turn 4, if the stars are with you:

T1/2 Buy Lighthouse/Haggler
T3 Play Lighthouse
T4 Play Haggler+4 Coppers, buy KC, gain Grand Market.

Or, of course, on turn 3:

T1/2 Buy Vault
T3 Play Vault, discard entire hand, buy Grand Market.

I think there are several ways to get them on Turn 3, probably all in a puzzle thread somewhere.

Or you can get it on turn 2.

Turn 1: Play 2 Coppers, buy Borrow, buy Ferry on Stonemason.
Turn 2: Play 4 Coppers, spend your Coin token from Baker, buy Borrow, buy Stonemason, overpaying by $6.

Voila, two Grand Markets on turn 2!

As usual i have voted for a weak, sometimes useful oddball i feel emotionally attached to. In this case, Philosopher's Stone.

You don't need to Borrow on the first turn.  Just open 3/4 on a Baker/Borrow board.

I like how the best treasure is the one that helps you get rid of treasure. That's how awesome treasure is in Dominion.

I haven't even played a game with it, but I picked Coin of the Realm because it's just so weird and special and enables things that weren't possible before. Also because it makes *Black Market* weirder, and I didn't think that was possible.

I voted HoP, but I really like Bank, too. It can generate really big loads of $$ although those engine decks tend to be a bit unreliable with all those yellow cards in them. It's probably my number 3 after Counterfeit with Quarry being number 4.
