Apparently draught can mean pulling something along, especially a beast of burden, vehicle or tractor. Pulling a litter (in the person-carrier sense) seems to fit well enough here.

Wait, I see the problem with BOTTLE -- that it's the thing that's specifically not draught (draft) when it comes to beer. Hmm.

Meanwhile, Wiktionary's 17th sense of "draught" is "The bevel given to the pattern for a casting", so that points to CAST. And you can draw water from a WELL.

My queue at this point would be WELL, LITTER, CAST, and then maybe CHARGE and deliberate about BOTTLE some more.

The more you learn ... I was unaware of the meaning of litter as a stretcher. Looking up litter in the dictionary I see German translations which I didn't know exist as a word, such as Förnahorizont.

To my mind EgorK's clue was just about what I'd call legal, as the wording of the solution was selected to contain letters of the words in the clue.

But I generally can get along with different styles of playing.

Once I get to my computer and can remember. On the draught clue you got the ones you needed to get, I left such a huge number so you could guess from the previous clues

I noticed that only some time after posting clue. When 3 remaining words were cast, castle and degree my plan was to hint Perlmutter: 3. What do you think about that?

sherpa was LEAD, HIMALAYAS, and POINT.

Military was going to be US military, but I didn't ask Egor and wanted to get a clue out there. It was CHARGE, EAGLE, HORN, and POINT.

Draught was BEER and WELL, and enough guesses for you to win the game

I didn't know LITTER could be used as a stretcher either!

I would not have gotten those clues. Even checking Wikipedia would not have helped me. This game shows there is such a thing as getting too abstruse.

I played on New Year's Eve and got CHICK correct. That was lucky, because I wasn't sure how perverted he was trying to be with SLOT. Turns out he was talking about PORT. Oops.

Huh, I'm surprised that LITTER was not universally recognized as a stretcher. American thing maybe?
