2nd Round match - NewandForgiven vs Psyduck (who is a scholar and a gentleman). I will quickly say here that he put up with me having to be a guest on client 1.0, and put up with me only being able to message him on this board (as guests don't seem to be able to talk :()

Do please critique my play, as a lot of these cards are new to me and I know I didn't play perfectly.

Game 1 - BoardLog - Pretty log

(0.5) NewandForgiven T23 - 37VP       (0.5) Psyduck T23 - 37 VP

A board with so much to go with conspirator. Tactician, spy and alchemist. I get an early tactician to get possession (turns out 6P is easy with 10 cards). Psyduck gets a talisman, which pressures me into buying conspiritors before they run out. This leaves me without many conspirators AND with only 1 alchemist to really get them going. This is the first time I have ever played Possession, and having done so, I hate it more than I did before. RNG central methinks. Psyduck might have been able to win if he possessed me on the last turn instead of ending the game for a draw but that would have been a big gamble given how inconsistant my deck was.

Game 2 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

(1.5) NewandForgiven T - VP       (0.5) Psyduck T -  VP

Quarry + city + buys. I see an UCS looming. I thought about opening hamlet/quarry, and in hindsight think I should have, as not having any +buy limited me til T6 and past. Hamlet for buy and action, library for mad draw and them quarry to buy lots of cities was the goal. I got scared when I suddenly reaslise that remodel might let Psy upgrade his cities AND then play them before me, but I stick to my plan and win the split 6/4. From there, I'm just waiting for a chance to 3 pile. (It was close. I had no spare buys on the final turn).

Game 3 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

(1.5) NewandForgiven T15 - 42 VP       (1.5) Psyduck T16 - 62 VP

I see forager/market square into library as a thing. Turns out Jack works better than double forager, and prince with market square is a bigger deal than I thought it would be. Not sure if I made any huge mistakes... But I lose by a lot without ever really being a contender. My one gribe would be drawing both my libraries at the bottom of my deck on T13 but I feel Psy played better than me.

Game 4 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

(1.5) NewandForgiven T15 - 8 VP (quit)      (2.5) Psyduck T16 - 6 VP

I have never played double Jack, and it turns out, Mercenary, Familiar AND ambassador together mixed in with tournament and warehouse can over run it. At this point my client refreshes and being only a guest it takes ages to tell Psyduck that I am gone. However, Psyduck was obviously going to win, so the game goes to Misty's headache.

Game 5 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

(2.5) NewandForgiven T17 - 39 VP       (2.5) Psyduck T16 - 15 VP

Did you know Donald X made a card that is +15 card, + 1 action? Psyduck does.
Chapel is a game warping card. What's that? Chapel, grand market + some late scrying pools? Sounds good. Prince? Prince is a weak card....

Rogues is the most interesting card in Dominion at the moment I think. It has so much complexity. I must look at the forums and see what discussion there is about it and then add my thoughts. But the salient point is that it isn't a strong enough attack to break chained grand markets (because if there is a feast in the trash, you need to play three to 'perma' steal one card from your opponent. In this game, I figure 1 is good, and after that, just go for the win.

Game 6 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

(3.5) NewandForgiven T19 - 25 VP       (2.5) Psyduck T18 - 15 VP

Read the board I believe was the advice on a DominionStrategy post some while ago by curses. He doesn't mention read the cards properly, but I think that is implied. By blind chance, my thinking you discard the cards doctor doesn't 'cure' doesn't come back to haunt me.

In this game, I think me and Psy get sidetracked from the monster that is Border Village/Journeyman into 2 goons for lols. I buy an IGG at one point, and we both get madmen. My madmen where just to try and make sure that in a high power game, I don't stumble on one turn because of an unlucky draw. Psy appears to go for a madman/storeroom mega turn, and I am very sad that it doesn't work out because that would have been awesome. On my T18, I drain BV and Journeyman to allow for a 3 Pile ending. And T19, 1 colony is enough to finish it.

Well played to Psyduck. Another day, and it would probably be him progressing on. Thanks for the games

2nd Round match - NewandForgiven vs Psyduck (who is a scholar and a gentleman). I will quickly say here that he put up with me having to be a guest on client 1.0, and put up with me only being able to message him on this board (as guests don't seem to be able to talk :()

Thanks for your kind words. :) There's no reason to worry about the circumstances of our match. I was totally fine with them. :)
I must say that you played very well, especially when taking into account that some of the cards were new to you. Well done! Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about own play, as I tend to play reeeeally sophisticated when it comes to tournaments. And when I say sophisticated, I mean dumb.

But now for the games:

Game 1 - BoardLog - Pretty log

I was a bit unfocused here and didn't know in which order I wanted the components. Then in T21 I did a huge mistake, having two actions left while having Tactician and Possession in hand. So I played Tactician and then - wait, where's my Possession?  ::) In the end taking the tie was more than I could ever expect from that game.

Game 2 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

This was really close. I underestimated Cities here, but still had to go for them as NewandForgiven rushed for them. Although I saw the early three-piling coming, I didn't manage to get it done, lacking one buy. Next turn NewandForgiven won handily.

Game 4 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

Jack can deal with lots of junk, but here it was just too much. So I agree that I would've won this if the game hadn't crashed. Still, thanks for recognizing this!

Game 5 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

This was just stupid. You really have to prioritize some money when GM is the key card. And with Chapel and GM, you don't need tons of Scrying Pools to draw the deck. I never had the economy and lost quite badly.
Having said that, I think Rogue is a bad card most of the time, and also in this game. Its effect can easily be mitigated by trashing some Silvers, Feast or other junk.

Game 6 - Board - Log - Pretty Log

This was even more stupid than the last one. I think we both misplayed a bit, but NewandForgiven played at least conservatively, while I dragged myself into complete nonsense. Instead on focusing on Border Villages and Journeymen, I got a late Doctor to trash my only three Silvers (which never happened), I kept my Mint for minting Gold (which never happened because I didn't even buy any Gold). Mid-game I realized the game warping Hermit/Storeroom combo, went for it for some turns but then couldn't make much out the turn. This happens if you don't have a plan and then change it every 3 turns. Don't try this at home!

Round 3 match against Titandrake. Feel free to leave comments and feedback on the games.

Game 1: Resembled an engine vs. Library/BM game.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdQjCT3BqmE

Game 2: Haggler was the key card here and my opponent seemed unlucky to not get it sooner
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_L2i7cSkec

Game 3: Curious board in which Haggler/BM seemed to be the best try.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVhBjBSrm40

Game 4: University gains were key here. Trader payload at the end paid off
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylpdo74K6ls

Game 5: Big Gardens game. Seems I incorrectly opened Sea Hag instead of Bureaucrat.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFrI5S3ddSI

Game 6: Won the Fool's Gold split but Silk Roads came through in a big way for my opponent. Not sure what I could have differently here.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2cNZBCemRc

Game 7: Vineyards game which probably required more thought or finesse than I gave it.

Thoughts:

Game 1: Got too scared of early Militia and bought a Militia, but I should have opened Warehouse/Silver. That Militia is one fewer Library I can support, and I think Library/BM can actually win against the kinda engine.

Game 2: Eh stuff happens.

Game 3: I don't like my Caravan/Chapel opening in retrospect, but I got some nice early luck and it worked out well. I stalled towards the end since I didn't have as many treasures and was losing the few I did have to NB, but my lead was too big.

Game 4: See, this is what I get for trying to use Pirate Ship. I didn't expect Trader to work out that well.

Game 5: In general I don't like Sea Hag against Gardens. Usually Sea Hag does make them lose points, but they don't lose as many because of Gardens, making it not worth the opportunity cost of playing an action that can actually help your deck.

Game 6: I think Oasis > Silver if you're going for Provinces and Silver > Oasis if you're going for Silk Road. (Yes, you'll have green to discard to Oasis, but the average card you draw to replace it is going to be green more often too.) To me, it felt like your deck was better set up for Provinces, and then you pivoted into Silk Road, whereas I was forced to go for Silk Road after losing FG split and did that with more focus. Smugglers is better for me than for you in that mirror because you actually have economy and I don't, but my deck hit $8 a lot more than I thought it would. That middle stretch of $3 was very rough and probably killed you this game, but after that happened I think you have better odds if you start going for Provinces again and force me to empty Duchies on my own.

Game 7: I may have bought a few too many Moats. I mostly credit Chancellor for this game.

1: 1-0. Dunduks 0 (resigned) - 6 Stealth Tomato: https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445032039958.txt
I opened 2/5 on a Cultist board, and even with Remakes in play, it didn't take much more than that.

2: 2-0. Stealth Tomato 3 - -6 Dunduks (resigned): https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445032478677.txt
On a non-trashing Familiar board, I got a Familiar in 3/4, he didn't.

3: 2-1. Dunduks 40 - 24 Stealth Tomato: https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445033252424.txt
Crazy wacky Tactician engine board. My draws were, well, almost as horrifyingly bad as his were in the first two.

4: 2-2. Dunduks 33 - 31 Stealth Tomato: https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445034420391.txt
Long, knock-down, drag-out battle of Masquerade/Ill-Gotten Gains. Needing to either hit 8 or Masquerade me his last Curse on his final turn, he pulls off the latter.

5: 3-2. Stealth Tomato 36 - 26 Dunduks: https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445035049136.txt
The first really, really good game of the match. I got a Haggler thing going early, while he played a longer strategy focused on Foragers into a Margrave deck. He wasn't quite able to catch me after my early Provinces, and I was able to close it out.

6: 3-3. Stealth Tomato 49 -59 Dunduks: https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445035544014.txt
He beat me to the Feodums. One of my most glaring weaknesses after a year away is not remembering how to play canonical boards optimally.

7: 3-4. Dunduks 42 - 40 Stealth Tomato: https://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151016/log.0.1445036138225.txt
Farmlands game that I lost by a single coin. Failed a Duchy on two of my last three ($1/$6/$4). This is the only game where I feel like I definitely had the superior strategy, but it didn't work out. I left myself a bit money-light at the end, but I came just short of what I needed a number of times, and Hunting Grounds was completely inert in 2 of my last 3 shuffles. I drew it with the option to trash it for Farmland-Province-Duchy in the first of those, but it seemed too early to sell out for an extra 5 points.

Good games, sir! Back to my quiet retirement.

My Loser's Bracket Round 2 match vs love:

Game 1: Kingdom - Log
Some trashing and cantripping, but not really a full engine. Opening Island is decidedly sub-optimal; the 5-costs are just too good to delay. I'm not sure what order is best to get them in, though. I thought about adding Hoard or Ghost Ship, but by the time I'd have gone for them it was already time to green.
Result: singletee wins 33-25

Game 2: Kingdom - Log
Border Village/Torturer chain with Grand Market, Conspirator, and Throne Room. I put on my wishful thinking hat for this one and it cost me. Having a little less Silver in your deck doesn't help if you end up with most of the Curses. love piled out BVs for the win.
Result: love wins 25-0

Game 3: Kingdom - Log
Torturers again! Salvager and Loan did some good trashing for me in the beginning. I grabbed a couple Jesters to generate some Salvager fuel, and they ended up giving out several curses on their own.
Result: singletee wins 42-0

Game 4: Kingdom - Log
I don't really know what I was going for here. I thought colliding Watchtower + Butcher might provide some thinning. The top Knight was underwhelming, Dame Natalie I think. I wasn't keen to pick her up and give my opponent access to Anna/Bailey/Michael. I tried to catch up with Duchy/Duke but it was too late. Maybe the best thing is to Butcher Estates into Courtyards, buying Bandit Camps and Knights? Just BM with Courtyard/Butcher?
Result: love wins 42-38

Game 5: Kingdom - Log
Ambassador, Militia, and Mountebank. Yikes! I was able to overcome a Province deficit with Duchies and Curses. Plaza seems especially good when every coin counts.
Result: singletee wins 36-34

Game 6: Kingdom - Log
Apprentice/Fortress is the thing. Added Pawn for +Buy and Coppersmith for cash. I had 2 harrowing turns at the end waiting to draw my Apprentices, all 4 of which showed up in the bottom 8 cards of the shuffle.
Result: singletee wins 41-23

Match result: singletee wins 4-2

Thanks to love for the games, and comments welcome from anyone.

mafiascum 4-0 yudai214

Game 1: mafiascum 37-36 yudai214 - Council Room/Village decks, opponent had a solid lead but after stalling a bit decided to buy Gold instead of padding the lead (up 9 with 1 Province left and $7), which allowed me to take Province/Duchy/Estate for the win. I might have been able to catch up anyway, but I would have needed an amazing draw.
Game 2: mafiascum 45-18 yudai214 - Festival/Library, I got off to a better start and it snowballed.
Game 3: mafiascum 45-24 yudai214 - Laboratory/Remodel for me into a single Council Room, opponent started with Council Room and had more money early, but I was eventually able to ramp up and start hitting double Province turns.
Game 4: yudai214 r-29 mafiascum - Chapel/Remodel for me vs. Chapel/Spy (?). I avoided collisions and was able to transition quickly to a Festival/Throne Room/Witch engine which split the curses 9-1; opponent trashed 5, but was never able to recover. I had the win in hand when yudai dropped connection.

Thanks for the matches, yudai!

Mike Koeman 4-Simon (Dk) 1

Videolog: http://www.twitch.tv/lammetje/v/22427498

Game 1:  Kingdom - Log
He opens 5 2 on a familiar board and his first potion hand is 2P. He tries to do some cute things with transmute but he is just too far behind with that start.

Game 2: Kingdom - Log
Long colony game with mountebank, young witch, marauder and tacticion with no trashing and no good engine. We both go for the junking into tactition. He tries to piece something together with shanty towns and smithies while I go for more money. Eventually I can pile out the shanty towns with a win.

Game 3: kingdom - Log
Ambasador game with lighthouse as defence. He goes quite heavy on the tournements and manages to get 3 prizes before me and wins.

Game 4: Kingdom - Log
Huge kingscourt colony board. I go for heavier trashing while he gets more tournements. This time I manage to win some tournements first and end up with most of the prizes which combined with my more trashed decks end up in a win.

Game 5: Kingdom - Log
Big highway grand market tactician big. I opened tactican nothing while he opened double silver. With the help of an armory I'm able to pick up most of the highways wich results in me getting a 5 provinces on turn 15 which pretty much sealed the game.

Any critique/ feedback/ questions are welcome.

Here are the round 4 games and my brief thoughts.

To see Stef's thoughts go to his Twitch channel for the video

http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151028/log.0.1446066673532.txt
I don't think my Beggar/Gardens open is that terrible, but it banks on hitting 4 Copper + Estate on turns 3 or 4. If that doesn't happen it's bad.

http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151028/log.0.1446067511254.txt
Do not ask me how I won Ruins split 4-6 when going against a Cultist opening, it is a mystery. I take more Curses but some nice shuffles carry me through.

http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151028/log.0.1446068357778.txt
I don't remember this game very well, but I know there was one turn where I didn't buy a Copper with Goons out because it was near the end of a shuffle. Except, we were both greening heavily and my deck is pretty big because it's turn 20, Copper was definitely worth it. Besides that, I don't know. It's hard to judge mistakes in money boards like this.

http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151028/log.0.1446069410483.txt
I wanted a Rogue, but I didn't want to buy it until I knew that Duchies would be in the trash from Rebuild. Stef didn't have Rebuild yet, and Rogue is another terminal in my thin deck, which is why I went for 2nd Rebuild. Maybe right, maybe wrong, I just barely outrace here. some key $8 hits let me end very early.

http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151028/log.0.1446070285789.txt
Lose Herald split 4-6 but my trashing lead is too big. Looking back, the big reasons were:
- My Hag hit Silver, so Stef's Counterfeit comes one shuffle later.
- Stef makes a call to buy Silver to ensure Counterfeit next shuffle, I go for Trade Route, and we both hit $5, putting me ahead. I think Silver is a reasonable call and it just didn't play out nicely.
- My Hag then hit Trade Route, stealing a trash.
- And then one of Stef's Trade Routes misses the shuffle and collides with the 2nd Trade Route and the Counterfeit.
I don't remember drawing any of my trashers dead, and that was that.

http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151028/log.0.1446070909507.txt
I don't like my early Provinces either. The first one seemed iffy, but I thought I would hit $6 soon. Then when I hit $8 another time, I thought that it was only 1 more green card, so if I thought my odds of hitting $6 were okay, then I should still think hitting $6 is somewhat likely. In reality it was a very big stroke of luck that I hit $6+ twice and that extra junk card was very significant, I didn't have a good opportunity to buy Gold for the rest of the game, and I had to rely on Cultist stack to carry me to $8.
My turn 22 + Stef's turn 23 for the silliest heart attack of the series - I needed $2 to continue threatening tie, and missed it. Stef needed $2 to prevent the tie, and also missed it. At least it worked out fair?

mith 4-1 Lekkit

Game 1: Lekkit 24-21 mith - Apprentice/Market Square mirror. I screwed up one buy ($6 with two buys should have been two Market Squares at that point, I think, but I had forgotten I had the second buy and just bought Gold), and he just played it a bit more efficiently to hold serve.
Game 2: Lekkit 37-53 mith - I skipped Chapel here and opened Urchin/Militia, which hit turn 4. He opened Chapel/Scavenger, and Scavenged his Chapel several times only for me to hit him with Merc. Harem was available for extra VP, but I was fast enough for that not to matter much.
Game 3: mith 40-33 Lekkit - I went Rats/Upgrade here into a bunch of Mystics (and some Gold). He went with Trader over Rats.
Game 4: Lekkit 21-56 mith - Chapel/Herald into Goons. With Great Hall available, I went for Conspirators earlier which helped get more Goons in my deck, and we were thin enough that his extra Herald early didn't make a difference.
Game 5: mith 14-5 Lekkit - Scrying Pool with Trade Route for trashing and Border Village for a plethora of actions. Witch was available as well, so I opened Trade Route/Horse Traders to get to $6 early and get the Curses flowing, whereas he just opened Trade Route/Potion. Pretty comfortable lead all game, just had to get to the three-pile.

Thanks for the games, Lekkit!

Game 1 and 5 I played horribly, the other ones I think I played decently. I could elaborate a bit more, but you could also just watch them and give comments ;) (and I'm feeling lazy, so definitely going for option B).
Here are the links:
Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, Game 4, Game 5, Game 6 and Game 7.

About game 7, why did my opponent skip Mountebank? I really don't get that.
[/quote]

Yes, in game 1 you played horribly. This is board where mountebank could be skippable depending on draws. There is watchtower-hamlet-goons engine with lighthouse and mercenary for trashing so you probably didnt give single curse and goons would be better. Here better opening looks watchtower/lighthouse or hamlet, then adding goons/mountebank+urchin on second shuffle for better cycling as UU opening doesnt give economy and its better to collide on urchin with other attack. With watchtower urchin helps by discarding estates in second shuffle.

game 2 ambassador-mint on 4-3 is terrible opening as it doesnt give you economy, much better is ambassador-jack as you dont have to buy single silver and have coin token. On 5-2 I would consider mint-silver. Also yo make mistake to play jack before ambassador, which gives you better draw and returning mint as here minting and apprenticing gold or silver from jack gives you draw.

Game 3 is obvious alchemist-conspirator engine with bank as payload so opening potion-woodcutter is correct. Main mistake is not getting second potion, you need it in games without trashing as happens to both of you in endgame.

Game 4 is much more wtf is opponent doing than game 7 as ignoring cultist when its only draw except vault and buying minstrels to rabble ruins is terrible. Buying minstrel instead cultist when there are still ruins left was mistake. You get bit lucky with 5-2 opening but he should open quarry/masq and get cultists ASAP. Once you won you misplayed it bit by not gaining enough cultists for draw and HoP megaturn and getting golds instead.

Game 5 here you both make mistake of buying junk dealers instead cultist when there still ruins left. I am most puzzled by nobles instead hunting grounds or cultist in one of first opponent buys

Game 6 is duke board so you should ignore provinces.

For game 7 you both make mistakes but him skipping mountebank and buying mint at first 5 was worse but you didnt punish him for that.

Reason here is fishing village. Without it I would consider skipping it depending on draws as there is junk dealer+market square for trashing and mint after you get first junk dealer and got 4+ coppers in hand.

With fishing villages actions are not problem so you should go for quadruple mountebank, second mb play typically gives curse and copper and you couldnt trash them with junk dealer when opponent plays multiple of them.

First problem was opening as you should open cutpurse/silver and get second silver before fishing villages to spike more 5 hands.

My Loser's Bracket Round 3 match vs drsteelhammer:

Game 1: Kingdom - Log
There are a few mildly interesting things to do here. You can trash, you can Mine, and you can make an Advisor stack. The cursers sit there unbought due to the strong trashing. 5/2 opening was lucky for me. I went for more money; he went for more Advisors. I'm not sure my Province buy turn 7 was the best idea but I felt like my deck was in decent enough shape. I was a bit afraid of my opponent's ability to gain Duchies from Remake and Stonemason.
Result: singletee wins 36-27

Game 2: Kingdom - Log
Chapel into Catacombs-BM(ish). I don't like my Altar at all. Market Square seems worth it for the +Buy and to gain Gold if you've Chapeled your deck down to nothing. Pure Catacombs-BM may beat anything we were trying to do.
Result: drsteelhammer wins 34-31

Game 3: Kingdom - Log
Again we have Advisor and a useless cursing attack. I ignored Courtyard so I could load up on more Lighthouses. Those Salvagers ended the game really quickly.
Result: singletee wins 23-21

Game 4: Kingdom - Log
We both open Militia/Pawn on different splits. He goes for the Fool's Gold; I grab Pirate Ships, Throne Rooms, and cantrips to try to shut it down. Having stuff to buy for $2 while my Ships were attacking was nice. I had a lot of dead Throne Rooms/dead draws/leftover actions. Better deck tracking on my part would have helped me here. Fool's Gold mirror is probably optimal though.
Result: drsteelhammer wins 36-27

Game 5: Kingdom - Log
Slog with Soothsayer and Marauder. Somehow I win the Curse split 7-3. My Worker's Villages were pretty useless.
Result: singletee wins 46-34

Game 6: Kingdom - Log
Nice engine to build here. He opens with a Trading Post on 5/2. I try to add Counting House into my engine to see if it can give me back the edge. It's not terrible, but the plain old Embassy engine is much better. Ok, maybe it was terrible after all.
Result: drsteelhammer wins 46-15

Game 7: Kingdom - Log
What even was this game? We beat each other up with Knights while trying to compete for the Nobles and other assorted stuff. I suffered worse from the Knights but managed to snag a couple extra Provinces with Beggar/Bank. After 32 turns, Dame Natalie bestowed upon me the winning Estate.
Result: singletee wins 43-42

Match result: singletee wins 4-3

Thanks to drsteelhammer for the games, and comments welcome from anyone.

If it were me playing, I would buy remake on turn 5 instead of mine, and then overpay for advisors on turn 6 and 7. You can remake the stonemasons and junkdealers to get more economy.

SheCantSayNo 4-0 mith

Game 1: SheCantSayNo 41-23 mith - Duke board. I opened Jester/Embargo (which I don't think was bad), but Embargoing the Dukes was dumb. I ended up splitting the Duchies evenly, and maybe should have just gone for Duke myself. Anyway, I also got 4 Curses from his Jester, so a mirror probably wouldn't have gone my way either. But I'm terrible with this kind of board and need to get better (a Jester/Duke board actually knocked me out of the 2011 tournament).
Game 2: SheCantSayNo 28-21 mith - Rebuild. Smugglers were available and this started as a mirror (Silver/Smugglers); identical to turn 4, at which point he drew $5 and I drew $4. I grabbed Sage thinking it would help me cycle to my Rebuilds faster, but maybe this should have been another Smugglers or Silver. Another card I don't play well (largely because I just haven't played with the Dark Ages cards that much).
Game 3: mith 26-40 SheCantSayNo - Still kicking myself over this one. I feel like I played this really well until turn 19; Horse Traders/Chapel openings, with him going for Mountebank first while I went for Cultist. I held on to a couple early Curses to avoid getting hit too often, and sent him all the Ruins. I also got to King's Court first. Turn 19 I'm thinking I'll grab a Province so that I have a lead and can threaten a three-pile (Curses, Ruins, Crossroads); then I exacerbated this by continuing to buy green cards. This allows him to finally get rid of all his junk and start hitting me hard with Mountebank for the win. I also misplayed turn 27 - after setting up my hand with KC-Scavenger and playing KC-KC-Cultist, I played a drawn Cultist as a free action rather than holding it for my second KC. Had I not misplayed there, there's a good chance I draw Horse Traders and buy four Crossroads to get that pile down to 1 and win next turn. Anyway, as is often my problem I stop engine building too early and it costs me.
Game 4: mith 23-30 SheCantSayNo - Knights were probably ignorable here? I felt like I was in a deep hole after his 5/2 opening (Soothsayer) so I was trying to trash that (and did, turn 6!), but he bought another and kept right on going. Lost the Curse split 6-4, and he also grabbed a couple extra Duchies to put it out of reach.

Thanks again for the games, and good luck against Mic!

Real quick thoughts on match vs Titandrake, I'll add the logs tomorrow. You should be able to watch Mic's commentary on his twitch. http://www.twitch.tv/mic_qsenoch

Game 1: I liked my Silver/Silver over Silver/Forager opening and it payed off. I went for Embassies because I didn't see how I could hit $8 otherwise. It didn't work out, and Titandrake hit $8 without them.

Game 2: Fools Gold seemed obvious here, and I dove in. We tied the split, as I was second player. Maybe I should have bought FG or Haggler instead of Merchant Guild? Either way, it seemed like no matter what I did, I just couldn't catch up to Titandrake's good draws. That tunnel I bought was bad, but I don't think it mattered much.

Game 3: Initial thinking was that the golden deck would get beaten by Haggler+Grand Markets speed, especially if they played one Torturer per turn. Still, I figured that I could get the golden deck working if I contested GM, and that Bishop points would surpass Provinces eventually. That's what I tried, and it worked OK, but I didn't play optimally. The Torturer I bought was stupid and should have been a Haggler, allowing me to have bigger turns. Still, it seemed like Titandrake made a few more mistakes than I did, so my (mostly) golden deck pulled through in the end.

Game 4: Another money game. I didn't like the engine here, and in retrospect this still holds true. I went for Madman and Hagglers, and with above-average draws I won. Surprised at how well it worked.

Game 5: Titandrake had an early lead here, and that made me worried. I opened Ironmonger/Silver to have higher chances of hitting $5 or $6. This opening becomes mediocre by the third shuffle, but I've been burned hard by opening Fishing Village before, and I really didn't want to risk it. Maybe it was the wrong opening. As the game progresses, Titandrake makes some strange buys, and I catch up a little. I considered a second Altar early on, but I decided to wait until I was drawing the deck as I wasn't playing the first one enough. By that point, there wasn't a whole lot to gain, so I skipped it. When we start greening, I still felt behind. On my second to last turn, I figure I'll have lost if Titandrake doesn't dud, so I buy two Provinces and hope for the best. He duds; I win.

Game 6: Apothecary/Bank looks good here, and I decide to go for it, planning to maybe add a sea hag halfway through. Disaster strikes on turn 3-4, where I get the worst possible draws and can't afford the Apothecary. Here's a misplay: I trash Copper and buy Fools Gold, figuring it to be better than Silver and perhaps better than nothing. In retrospect, there were lots of things better: a second Potion, Herbalist, or Worker's Village, assuming I don't trash Copper that turn. Titandrake has significantly better draws than me, but he follows me into the FG. He beats me easily in the mirror.

Game 7: This looks like Hermit+Highway, a type of board I'm really bad at. I think I start out decently enough by going for Mint, but then things start going wrong. Titandrake had 3 Madman at this point, and that was making me really nervous. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to start going for Provinces. In retrospect, I should have at least gained the last two Hermits and two Madmen before greening. Still, I had a really good shot at winning towards the end, but I wasn't able to get enough highways in play and so it didn't happen.

Thanks for the games, Titandrake.

Here is a recap...on my match with Adam. See his Twitch for the recording.

Adam:

Game 1: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151106/log.0.1446775564402.txt
BM game with Haggler, Mountebank, and Colonies. I'm deciding between Silver/Warehouse, Silver/Sea Hag, Silver/Watchtower, and maybe even Silver/Lookout as openings here. (Trashing gets better in Colony games.) When Adam buys nothing turn 1, I know he has 5/2 and is going to open Mountebank, so I decide I need to go for the Watchtower and hope I draw it at the right time. I do, and that's a huge help. I get some Warehouses, but 1 or 2 of them should be Lookout instead. Lookout cycles almost as much as Warehouse, but it combos a bit better with Watchtower. (Both decrease handsize by 1. If you see a terminal on top with Lookout, you can choose not to play Watchtower and use the topdeck ability. If you draw it with Warehouse, you have to discard Watchtower and can't topdeck.) I feel like Adam went a bit too Lookout happy here and that gave me the lead.

Game 2: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151106/log.0.1446777408236.txt
A Lab + Madman thing with various other pieces as payload. Honestly, I think this was just shuffle luck. Both my buys hit the end of my shuffle, and then I didn't hit $5 until the turn I played a Madman. There were probably 1 or 2 things I could have done to make hitting $5 more likely though.

Game 3: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151106/log.0.1446778579529.txt
Some Hag/Tournament/Butcher thing. I bought an Embargo and Butcher early, and it ended in the worst way - Embargo + Sea Hag + Butcher collision. I don't pick up enough Tournaments before Adam Embargoes them (prioritizing Butcher instead). Pivotal turn is turn 12-13. I have 6 cards left in my deck, and against all odds I know both my last Tournament and Province are in there...then Sea Hag discards Tournament and I don't get first prize. All pain after that.

Game 4: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151106/log.0.1446830947717.txt
Adam gets dreadful Familiar luck and I crush the Curse split, then almost throw away the game through sloppy play. I try to transition to a Farming Village/Oracle/Conspirator deck, but there's no trashing besides Transmute, so there's no way it can be consistent enough. That gives Adam time to trash Curses to Transmute, then go for Transmute + Silk Road. I still win, but I really shouldn't have. After winning the split that badly I should have bought Silvers + Gold and moved to Oracle-BM, I think that wins way faster.

Game 5: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151106/log.0.1446831961319.txt
5/2 opening, I go for Apprentice instead of Witch. I plan to get Witch on my next $5. This is super risky, a lot riskier than I thought it was at the time. I knew I wanted Witch + Apprentice, and decided I'd rather have the Estate trash, but it's a lot less likely I even hit $5 with an Apprentice open. I get it anyway and snowball a huge lead. If I played this again I'd go for Witch opening for sure. Anyways, pick up some Loans, get my deck super thin, play Witch almost every single turn...then realize I have no economy. I thought Poor House + Copper in hand = $5, not $4, so I flounder for a few turns while figuring out how to reboot after my crazy trashing, Once I get going, I manage to punch through Provinces. (I think trashing extra early to play Witch more often is right, but I overdid it.)

Game 6: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151106/log.0.1446832408363.txt
Cultist stomp, win Ruins split 7-3. Not much Adam can do here. Only thing I disagree with him on is that Monument/Silver is still an okay opening in Cultist games. Without Shelters, it's iffy and I can see Silver/Silver, but with Necropolis you can definitely support 1 Monument, and the VP is so good. In any case, I get some very nice shuffles, and don't draw Monument dead until pretty late in the game.

(I will try to get to the match with pubby soon.)

Edit: you know what, I don't feel like doing work today anyways, I'll do the pubby match now.

pubby:

Game 1: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447468991260.txt
Idk what I was thinking of when I did Forager/Silver opening. Has to be Scavenger/Silver. I wanted Embassy, but thought 1st Mountebank was better, and 1st Hoard was better. By the time I had $5 again, I realized I had Forager + Scavenger + Mountebank in my deck. With how big my deck was at the time, I felt like Embassy was very likely to collide with Scavenger or Mountebank. I really wanted to play both every shuffle, and the 2nd Mountebank felt like it was similar enough power level to be okay.

I will say that I got some very nice luck in the middle. Scavenger topdecking Hoard, then next turn Scavenger, discard deck, topdeck Mountebank, buy Province, gain Gold. Completely insane turn that let me get away with no Embassy later down the line. (I don't have a good justification for topdecking Hoard instead of Mountebank there. My argument was that I wanted to gain a Gold ASAP, and expected to draw Mountebank before pubby shuffled again. This reasoning doesn't hold up very well, but it worked out fantastically.)

Game 2: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447469388445.txt
Actually, you won FG split 6-4. I opened Silver/Silver since hitting $5 didn't seem very likely with a FG/FG opening, and I really wanted Merchant Guild and/or Haggler. Now that I think about it, hitting $5 isn't that unlikely, and Silver/Silver is only better if you hit $5 twice next shuffle. Which I did. Didn't lose the split too badly, turned one into a Gold right away, then got very nice draws. Coin tokens from Merchant Guild smoothed out the turns where I didn't hit $8, which let me run away with the game. (With Merchant Guild in the mix, it might be better to not go crazy into FG, since Merchant Guild is better if you expect to get $5 to $8 every turn instead of $10 then $4, which is what buying FG leads to. On the other hand, if you draw Merchant Guild on your monster FG turn, you can catch up. Not too sure what's better here.)

There's one turn I bought Duchy + Estate, spending a coin token. I could have done Tunnel + Tunnel and saved a token, but at the time I thought 2 + 2 < 3 + 1. Oops.

Game 3: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447470334122.txt
I did some weird stuff this game, definitely should not have picked up as many Vagrants as I did off of Hagglers. Played this super sloppy and pubby got the win he deserved.

Game 4: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447470691908.txt
My first Province may be too early. I was hoping to gain the treasures I needed from Haggler, which didn't work out very well.

Game 5: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447472296156.txt
This game was very tricky, enough so that I don't remember many details from it that well. It's some engine board with lots of potential and lots of choices, meaning lots of potential mistakes.

Game 6: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447472918097.txt
Lol, Apothecary/Fool's Gold. I mean, there's no way this should have worked. The only reason it did was because pubby's draws were god awful. Fool's Gold is this black hole where once any player buys one, you feel obligated to buy one every turn to prevent a FG snowball. I actually completely missed Bank this game. By the time I noticed it, I was always hitting $8 instead of $7, so...

Game 7: http://dominion-game-logs.s3.amazonaws.com/game_logs/20151114/log.0.1447474285656.txt
Hermit + Highway + Scheme. 5/2 is bad for me. I'm going to defend my Cartographer open here, because I'm convinced it's by far the right open on 5/2. I knew I was going to be behind since I was getting Hermit 1 shuffle later. Although I want Highway, if I open Highway/- it's going to be at least 3 turns before I get to even play a Hermit. This is a unique board where it's okay to gain no economy in the opening. So, I open Cartographer only for the cycling - by discarding 3-4 cards whenever I play it, I trigger early shuffles around a turn earlier on average. That lets me catch up in the Madman race.

I feel I still played this badly. I just barely manage to get 5 Highways, and could have gotten a free Merchant's Guild the turn I did. However, I'm still proud of my play. I managed to keep paths to victory open long enough to get the win. I definitely could have made my chances higher, but there's very little margin of error to keep the possibility of a victory alive here.

Dunduks 4-1 mith

Game 1: Dunduks 2-(-4) mith - Forgot to get the log on this one. Lots of Curses, obv. I opened Silver/Smugglers I think vs. Silver/Silver. Not sure what I was thinking there, need to see the log.
Game 2: Dunduks 56-73 mith - I found this one hilarious. We both opened Young Witch/Swindler, with Swindler as the bane. On turns 3/4, we Swindled each other's Young Witch. Turn 7, Dunduks Swindled my second Young Witch, gave me a Young Witch back, and then bought one himself. Meanwhile, Swindler passed out the first 7 Curses by turn 10 and blocked Young Witch 4 times by turn 12, before I finally connected on my turn 12 winning the Curse split 6-4 with a couple Soothsayer plays. I kept feeling like he had the better deck and it was only a matter of time - I never found a place for Butcher, but I got going on Colonies soon after my first Platinum, and built a big lead which was never in serious danger.
Game 3: Dunduks 26-16 mith - Chapel into Squire/Wharf on a Vineyards board. This one was felt lost after the first shuffle; we had the same draws with Chapel (Silver, Copper, Copper, Estate), and on his other turn he had $3 (Oasis) while I had $4 (Caravan). Ordinarily, this would be a small win for me, but it meant he had an extra Copper on turn 5, which got him to Wharf first, and it snowballed from there. 7-3 split, I kept it close but it was never in doubt.
Game 4: mith 12-21 Dunduks - Dumb opening from me. Count/Silver (thinking having the best trasher would help) vs. Minion/Smugglers on a Baker set. He won the Minion split of course, and his engine was better after that with Ironmongers and Vagrants to mitigate the green. Trashing those early Estates also meant I was behind in points, and I could never find a good opportunity to gain a Duchy with Count.
Game 5: mith 23-23 Dunduks - Similar plans here; Plaza/Horse Traders for handsize reduction, Library for draw. I went for University as well, so my build was slower but eventually more robust. After we piled out the Plazas and Libraries, he was able to jump out to a 10 point lead (he would have been able to win outright with a Plaza still in hand). With one Farmland left, I needed $16 to buy Farmland (Farmland->Province), Province, Estate, and I got $15 instead. Grr. I think ignoring University was probably the better play, but still frustrating to lose this one so close.

Thanks for the games, Dunduks!

Weird, this post disappears when I try to make another, so I'll put them together.

My Loser's Bracket Round 4 match vs awaclus:

Game 1: Kingdom - Log
Masquerade/Spice Merchant openings from both players. I went into BM with Harem looking to pick up Crossroads later. He went for 2x Poor House and Crossroads for draw. Masquerade started hurting later, though it hurt me less as my deck was able to handle keeping some stray coppers to pass away. I passed a Province on the last turn for a win after triple-checking my arithmetic to make sure I wasn't doing something monumentally stupid. 5 of the Kingdom cards went unused - I wonder if Feodum or T-Map could have been used for a burst of money after trashing down.
Result: singletee wins 28-26

Game 2: Kingdom - Log
Nice engine here. Hunting Grounds for draw, Wandering Minstrel for actions, and Grand Market for $ and buys. The problem is how to get the $6-without-Copper you need for the GM. I had planned on getting Explorer after my first Province, but I didn't want to skip a Province buy for it and I hit $4 instead of $5/6/7, so I snagged a Tunnel. Awaclus continued to build his engine and fell behind on score. WM's sifting allowed me to continue to buy Provinces pretty consistently and close it out. This Kingdom would be more fun with trashing.
Result: singletee wins (awaclus resigned)

Game 3: Kingdom - Log
My favorite attack is out and the poor guy only gets to hit twice. Swindler/Lighthouse openings from both; T-Post/Lighthouse would be amazing. The engine components are not as strong here as in the last game; Festival is key since it is the only splitter and works great with Watchtower. I won a close victory after some Duchy dancing at the end.
Result: singletee wins (awaclus resigned)

Game 4: Kingdom - Log
Cultist board. I got lucky and blocked his first 2 Cultist plays with Trader. I won the Ruins split 7-3 and that was pretty much that. Should I have just gotten another Cultist instead of my Altar? It worked out super but it could just as easily have been drawn dead.
Result: singletee wins (awaclus resigned)

Match result: singletee wins 4-0

My Loser's Bracket Round 5 match vs A Drowned Kernel:

Game 1: Kingdom - Log
I was on the other end of a Chapel/Soothsayer opening recently so I feel like I've paid my karmic debt for this in advance.
Result: singletee wins (A Drowned Kernel resigned)

Game 2: Kingdom - Log
Highway/Ironworks combo. I should have gotten more villages as I was unable to use all my Ironworks for Province gains when I got 4 Highways in play. Apothecary I guess is faster than trashing Coppers.
Result: A Drowned Kernel wins 42-21

Game 3: Kingdom - Log
Engine board with light trashing from Masquerade and no worthwhile attacks. Golem is totally worth it. After my Golems kicked off I amassed a big pile of coin tokens which I was able to turn into Provinces at will. I think the best opening here is actually Masq/Ironmonger, saving the coin token in case of a $2 or $3P hand. Maybe even open Masq/Potion.
Result: singletee wins 30-22

Game 4: Kingdom - Log
I don't get ADK's Island/Chapel opening here. Chapel gives you all the trashing you need, why would you get more trashing? Skipping YW also seems like a bad idea, especially since the bane is Herbalist. Workshop/Gardens will get wrecked by Young Witch and/or Rogue, I think.
Result: singletee wins 33-22

Game 5: Kingdom - Log
It was so hard not to open Sea Hag here. But it's going to become a confusion really fast, and to buy it I would have to pass up Horse Traders which will get me to $5 over and over. I think I went for Great Hall too early; those first few should have been Silvers.
Result: singletee wins 21-17

Match result: singletee wins 4-1

Thanks to awaclus and A Drowned Kernel for the games, and comments welcome from anyone.
