20 Events Puzzles

As we all know, the options of having more than two Events in a game of Dominion can become truly dizzying. Introducing all 20 onto a table would lead to absurd degrees of analysis paralysis. But what if we eliminate... the Kingdom Itself?

How quickly can Provinces be emptied with all 20 Events present and:

1. No Kingdom Cards available (BM only option)

2. Scout as sole kingdom card

3. Smithy as sole kingdom card

Obviously, further questions can be spun from this, but for now, we have more than enough complexity.

Here's a start:

T1: Borrow, buy gold
T2: Draw 2 estates, 2 copper, borrow, 3xTraveling fair, 4x curse
T3: Draw 2 estate, 2 curse, buy quest gain gold
T4: Draw gold, copper, copper, curse, curse. Quest for gold, borrow, buy gold
T5: 5 Copper, borrow, buy gold
T6: 3xEstate, 2x gold, buy gold
T7: copper, 4x curse. Travelling fair, two quests for 2 gold on the deck
T8: 5x gold, traveling fair, gold on the deck, province
T9: Gold, 4 copper, borrow, province
T10: 2 copper, (shuffle) 2 gold, estate, province
With 7 golds  and 5 copper still in the deck, we can get three more provinces, then a dead hand where we get two gold with 4 curses, and then the remaining three provinces. So that's 17 turns. I'm pretty sure you can do better. Maybe you should skip the curses? Or use other events that I am forgetting right now.

EDIT: Traveling fair costs 2. Starting over...

I think we want to do a silver spam, not a gold spam. There are lots of events useful for that.

How fast is the fastest BM?  I would think it's faster than 17 turns.

It would have actually been 16 or maybe 15 with optimization, but there is a much better approach anyway. We want to open 3+ silver and then get 5-ish silver the next shuffle, and then maybe 12 the next shuffle and then green.

How fast is Raid-BM? It will eventually be gaining about 3-4 Silvers, similar to Masterpiece-BM.

So the only events we are actually using are Alms, Borrow, Quest, Save, Scouting Party, Travelling Fair, Bonfire, Expedition, Pilgrimage, Ball, Raid, Trade, since the rest depend on Action cards.

I figure the standouts are Raid(gain loads of Silver), Scouting Party(for shuffle control), Travelling Fair(for buys), and Borrow/Save to distribute money between turns. Saw the Quest thing, but I don't think buying Curses is worth it, and obv discarding 6 isn't either.

T1: Buy Scouting Party(discard 3 Estates) + Silver, shuffle and draw 5 copper
T2: Buy Scouting Party(discard 3 Estates) + Silver, draw Silver, 2 Copper, shuffle, Silver, Estate
T3: Buy Borrow, Scouting Party(discard 2 Estates and Copper), Raid(gaining 2 Silver), draw 4 Copper
T4: Buy Expedition, shuffle and draw 4 Silver, 3 Copper
T5: Buy Travelling Fair, Raid(gaining 4 Silver topdecked), Borrow, Raid(gaining 4 Silver topdecked), draw 4 Silver
T6: Buy Province, draw 4 Silver, Copper
T7: Buy Scouting Party(discard 3 Estates), Scouting Party(shuffle, discard 3 Copper), Expedition, draw 7 Silver
T8: Buy Travelling Fair, Raid(gaining 7 Silver topdecked), Raid(gaining 7 Silver topdecked), draw 5 Silver(top of deck has 9 new+5 old=14 Silver)
T9: Buy Borrow, Save(Silver ofc), Province
T10-12: Repeat 3 times. Draw 2 Silver, 2 Copper, saved Silver
T13: Buy Province(number 6), draw 5 Copper
T14: Scouting Party(discarding 3 Estates), Expedition, draw Province, shuffle and draw 6 Silver
T15: Buy Province, draw 4 Silver
T16: Buy Province

Definitely room for improvement here. I was thinking that if you could buy Travelling Fair+Expedition, you could increase your hand size to ridiculous amounts, then Ball for ridiculous amounts of Silver. But then I realized we're capped at 40 Silver, so I just bought out Provinces. You need 2 Expeditions to double Province, along with 9 Silver, so the setup isn't really worth it when you could just buy Province twice.

Keep in mind for fastest BM that 17 turns is normally 2 player, where you only need to get 4 Provinces. Did a bit of simulation, looks like solo standard BM with Duchy/Estate removed takes about 25 turns.

I guess if it's 2 player, then just follow the above and it finishes by turn 11.

T1/2: Ball for 2 silver, alms for a silver. Have -1 coin token.
T3: Play 3S2C, scouting party discard 3E2C, Raid for 3 silver
T4: 3C (shuffle) C, S. Scouting party discard 3E2C, Mission
T4Mission: 5S, Buy travelling fair, expedition, Raid for 5 silver.
T5: C, (shuffle) 6S. Borrow, Travelling fair, province1, mission
T5Mission: 4S. Borrow, Scouting party discard 3E1C, Scouting party discard 5C, Raid for 4 silver.
T6: (shuffle) 4S, Province2
T7: 5S, Scouting party discard 3E1C1P, Province3
T8: 5S, Scouting party discard 5C, Province4
T9: S, C, (shuffle) S, S, C. Province5
T10-12: Provinces 6-8 (easy with 12 silvers in deck)

So that's 12 turns, should be tough to beat. Mission feels cheep, but well it works. Can probably still get 13 without mission.

Darn. I even checked the wiki, read the first line and assumed the rest. Oh well, maybe I should get more experience with these first.

Mission doesn't work; the last turn was always yours...

Gonna try and merge the two, since your opening is way better than mine.

T1/2: Ball for 2 silver, alms for a silver, shuffle. Have -1 coin token.
T3: Play 3S2C, scouting party discard 3E, Raid for 3 silver
T4: Play 4C, buy Save(C), Expedition, shuffle(6S7C3E)
T5: Play 6S2C, buy Travelling Fair, Raid for 6S topdecked, Travelling Fair, Borrow, Expedition, Expedition
T6: Play 6S3C, buy Travelling Fair, Raid for 6S topdecked, Province
T7: Play 5S, buy Scouting Party(reveal 1S2C, shuffle(12S3E5C), 1S1E, discard 2C1E), Province
T8: Play 5S, buy Scouting Party(reveal 2S2E1C, discard2E1C), Province
T9-13: Repeat(you have enough Silver and can skip a Scouting Party with 3S2C)

A deck with 5/8 Silver can run indefinitely(so long as it stays 5/8 Silver) by buying Scouting Party Province. In addition, you can skip Scouting Partys and buy Province with 3S2C. So really, you only need like 11 Silver to just skip Estates and buy the first round of Provinces(3 for every 2 Copper, 5 for every 3 green cards)
