So is anybody else going to GenCon this year and playing in the tournament there?

I'm not, but a friend of mine, is. So if you encounter any swedes, they probably know me. ;)

Robz has pre-qualified for the tournament there, and said he was going in November.

Also, my friend Josh who won the tournament I hosted is pre-qualified and plans to attend.

I'm probably going to show up and put my name on the waiting list like I did last year in order to play some sessions.

Alas, RobZ said he was unable to make it...as did shark_bait and andwilk.  So no rep from the Michigan tournament this year.  :(

Wait a tick, I was fourth in that tournament, when is it? Indy is only a 2 hour drive and I'm getting tons of crap for not going this year.

I'd like to, but I think I have to draw the line after 3rd place; that's where I drew it last year, and I wouldn't feel right about sending someone who didn't play in the final game.  Come back and win in November, so you can represent us next year!

Rundown on the 2015 World's Masters:

- I was only in the final round since I qualified at the Chicago tournament back in Spring, but there some other people there from the forums, including a guy who I assume is Lekkit's aforementioned friend. Some year it would be awesome to have a super huge F.DS showing at the tournament.

- The games were super Adventures heavy, which was cool but also I think threw some people who hadn't played with it yet for a loop.

- The games also had the new promo, which I can confirm is awesome. The cards were black and white so I would assume the printing isn't done.

- I won! The games were all very fun and there was some tough competition, if you're reading this and were there/played against me then I want to once again thank you for the great tournament.

- The tournament itself was also very well run, so thanks to the organizers for putting everything together. I'll probably be back next year so maybe we can have a big 'ol dominion strategy party.

Should I be giving you a title?  :)  Here is the list of titles I have in the database currently:

2011 DS Champion
2011 Swedish Champion
2012 DS Champion
2012 Dutch Champion
2012 German Champion
2012 Swedish Champion
2012 US Champion
2012 WBC Champion
2012 World Champion
2013 Swedish Champion
2014 Austrian Champion

Seems like we're missing a few ...

Did it look like it was a final card, just black & white? By which I mean, did it have art and everything?

Also it is mind-boggling to me that neither this, nor the existence of the promo at all, is on BGG right now.

It had art, which I assume was the actual card art. I didn't look too closely at it.

Sure, why not, though calling myself the "World Champion" or "US Champion" seems pretty silly with people like Stef and Wandering Winder running around. It makes me wish that someday there will actually be an IRL tournament with most/all of the high level players in attendance.

You just wait, ADK. My Cincinnati tournaments will eventually become so big that the top people from all over the world won't be able to skip, or else they won't be taken seriously.

That includes you now. :P

Hopefully the format will require laptops so we don't have to defile ourselves with paper.

If the trend of online Dominion getting increasingly worse continues, playing with physical cards will soon be the more convenient option.

Oh, and unrelated to the tournament, I got a chance to play DXV's game Monster Factory, which was pretty engaging for a kid's game. I'd recommend it if you want something fun and goofy for drink's night. Or if you, you know, have kids and want something to play with them.

Did you have have much experience with the Adventures cards prior? Were you one of the play testers? I tried to get a tournament going in Southern California. It might sound surprising but there has yet to be an irl tournament here. Jay said that it would qualify for the Gen Con tournament. Maybe next year. Anyway, seeing how my experience with Adventures is limited, I'm not sure how well I would have done.

I wasn't a playtester but I'm sure I've played with it more than a lot of the people at the tournament, several people had to read the cards in the first games. I was surprised by the fact that they made it so Adventures heavy given that it hasn't been out long, but maybe they wanted to build excitement for it.

Can confirm it was my friend. He said he placed second. He is on the forums sometimes, but mainly to sign up for tournaments. Proably goes by the name of Hampuse1.

Ok I did make it to the final group, but I ended up going 1 - 2 - 2 -1 in my games.  I might have played you at one point.  I know I played Hampus.

Considering we didn't sign any NDA's whatsoever are we allowed to talk about that new card?  Or would that be wrong?

The only game that I could have been in with you based on that was my third, were you in the game where someone bought messenger twice and gave out gears each time?

Where both of us went double gear big money to start and suddenly we ended up with 4 gears each.  Yeah.  That was me.
