Opponent Quits During a Possessed Hand (Possesion & Goko)
« on: May 25, 2015, 12:03:57 am »

My opponent quit during a hand of his, that I was possessing. Goko could not figure out how to handle the situation, it didn't move to the quit screen. It would not even allow me to resign the game, the only way out was to refresh the tab (or quit the tab, but same thing).

I have saved a screenshot if that is desired, but someone would have to tell me how to add it here as copy and paste isn't working.

You'll have to upload the image to an online image hosting service, and then link to it here using [img] tags.

I think that's a known bug and I don't think it'll be fixed in the current implementation.

It's a known bug.

I believe goko still counts it as a win for you if that thing happens, so just refresh.

It does. I posted on this exact bug a few weeks ago.

Not sure who is being asked...but, yes; even when the Current Client gets confused, it does register that your opponent resigned, and you get credit for the win. The problem is that you opponent may well have resigned in good faith, but you, the Possessor don't get any smooth notification of this, and things kind of hang, and: yeah, it's a bug.

If this is happening to you a lot, you probably have a pretty high rating. :-)

You're supposed to make all of the decisions during a Possession turn.  Quitting shouldn't have been an option!

Scenes from an IRL Possession game:
"You want to eat all the peanuts at once, Joe"
"You decide to go out with the cat, Gertrud."
"You suddenly feel the urge to take care of my dirty laundry, Mister Higgins."

Why do you call your dirty laundry Mister Higgins?
