Rabid - Titandrake 4:2

Titandrake first
http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150518/log.505ef45ca2e6714a97eee20c.1431972951059.txt

Fun board that was incredibly hard to play (took an hour.) Mining Village + Torturer engine where you must pull +Buy, trashing, and discard attacks from Black Market, although a good Mint turn lets you trash most of your coppers. One of the hardest engines I've ever played - when one of your misplays is not tracking the Black Market deck to know that a key card (Bishop) is in the next play and you need to prioritize playing Black Market, you know the board is tricky.

Rabid first

Rabid does the correct thing, skipping Sea Hag. I blunder into his strategy, but I'm not actually too far behind. One or two bad buys and a failed hail mary to get the first prize closes this one out.

I don't agree with Rabid's Warehouse/Advisor/Count strategy at the start, it feels like it would take too long to start up. I feel like you either go Wharf-BM to overpower Sea Hag, or you use Sea Hag + Ghost Ship and hope those slow the Wharf player by enough. In any case, I decide on Warehouse/Silver into planned Wharves, but then I get $2 on T3 and Sea Hag discards my Silver. My first $5 hand is turn 11, no coming back from that.

My plan is Mine + HT to get uniques for Menagerie. I think it could have worked, but I needed more Horse Traders to make it run nicely. Rabid does mostly Hunting Grounds for draw and closes out the game before I can catch up.

Titandrake first

5/2 is pretty nice on this board. I get a dream collision of Crossroads + 2 Torturer at the end of my second shuffle and that was that. Hoard + Silk Road gives some hope for a slog, but the engine is too consistent with Crossroads - starting from turn 11, I get 1 Province a turn, except turn 15 where I get a second CR

Titandrake first

One of the fastest boards I've seen. I decide on getting 1 Library before piling on Procession + Fortress, opening HT/Workshop. Rabid goes for Workshop/Workshop. It's unclear which is better, it seems like my shuffles are not that great, but I think I'd give the edge to double Workshop here. The best way to snowball ahead is Procession on Fortress, and if you do HT/Workshop you need an almost perfect shuffle to get $5 on your HT turn, and Workshop + $4 on your other turn. That's the only way you get Library, Procession, and Fortress. If you miss that, my guess is double Workshop gaining Procession/Fortress is just better. Procession on Workshop is still really, really good here, and you can delay Library by a bit to make sure you get going.

Twitch highlight of my side of the match.

http://www.twitch.tv/titandrake/c/6722635

Game 1: On turn 25 I rebuild Duchy -> Duchy since I'm worried Adam has $8 and wins game if I take Province. If I had taken Province, my Colony buy next turn could be 2nd Province and I would have won. Checking the VP totals, I should have taken the risk. VP is Adam 53, me 49 given my play. If Adam buys Province, I need Colony just to tie in VP, and then it's a race to who gets Province first, which favors Adam since I think his Rebuild is coming up sooner. If Adam Rebuilds to Province, goes up to 56, and I can't buy Province for the win, I need Colony. So, it's not a 100% shutout, but it's very rough for me if Adam gets a Province, and I should assume that I can win only if he doesn't get one.

Game 2: A race. I'm not sure which is better, but I want to say that given a 5/2 opening Governor is better than Rebuild, and given 3/4 Rebuild is better than Governor.

Game 3: You know, I'm not sure how I lose this one. The main culprit I see is that I don't buy many Islands and have fewer Hoards, but I buy Hoard on every $6/$7 hand I get and Adam only bought Island with Hoard, excepting the one at the end when we're contesting VP.

Game 4: It's a slog. My Bishop buy is wrong. I overbuy Goons, but I claim I only overbuy by a little bit. I underbuy Counting House though. There's a shuffle where I really need to buy Counting House but I have to contest Gardens instead, and that hurts a lot.

Game 5: Very clearly engine, although you're somewhat action constrained. I get a rough shuffle, Chapel goes to turn 5 and I draw it with 3 Copper + Silver. That position doesn't feel recoverable to me, although some silly buys don't help.

Game 6: Man check out that VP graph. First player advantage saves the day. Is Amb/Silver into Cultist better than Silver/Silver into Cultist? Not sure, who knows. Would like to see a sim for it. I lean towards Amb to return a little bit of junk early before going to mostly Cultist/BM.

Match against MtMagus:

Game 1: MtMagus first, AHoppy wins 16-11 http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150521/log.513b6ea7e4b079bc05b03809.1432257013235.txt
We both kinda tried to build an engine, but Marauder really killed it so ended in grabbing points before a 3 pile
Game 2: MtMagus first, MtMagus wins 38-16 http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150521/log.513b6ea7e4b079bc05b03809.1432258167156.txt
Goons game, I think his early 5-copper mint buy is what won it for him
Game 3: MtMagus first, MtMagus wins 41-40 http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150521/log.513b6ea7e4b079bc05b03809.1432258803652.txt
Governor game, but also with feodum and squire, I MtMagus gained more silver off my Governors than I did from his, which was enough to edge me out.  Definitely a good game.
Game 4: AHoppy first, AHoppy wins 29-1 http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150521/log.513b6ea7e4b079bc05b03809.1432259390695.txt
This was unfortunate for MtMagus...  I had a 2-5 opening, going first, on a Chapel/Mountebank/Minion board
Game 5: AHoppy first, MtMagus wins 49-48 http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150521/log.513b6ea7e4b079bc05b03809.1432260894938.txt
Ugh... I wish I was good at counting score in my head.  I thought I had lost it really early, his early posessions were rough on me, but later I got some really good ones, he got some really bad ones.  I felt like I was ahead, but he edged me out by 1 point again (well, I guess 2 since I went first)
Game 6: AHoppy first, AHoppy wins 35-30 http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150521/log.513b6ea7e4b079bc05b03809.1432261590931.txt
IGG game.  Not a whole lot to say here I don't think...

Overall, it was a good series I thought.  It was good to get back into Dominion.  Thanks for the games MtMagus!

Matches against Derg17 where I went 6-0.  I got extremely lucky in several of my games (swindled his merc into a curse in one game) and moderately lucky in the others.

This game I was pretty sure hermit>steward at the time I bought it as I really wanted an early province for my tournament.  But in hindsight, I'm not so sure if it was just shuffle luck that got me the win.
http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150521/log.5172f8e6e4b06622b07e67cd.1432265290338.txt

I lost the ambassador war, but won the knight war.  Despite him having a 5 card deck most of the game, and ambassadoring a curse every turn, I was able to 3 pile in time.
http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150521/log.5172f8e6e4b06622b07e67cd.1432263225286.txt

I got redic lucky this game on those last 2 turns.
http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150521/log.5172f8e6e4b06622b07e67cd.1432263895636.txt

Possession game where I decided to mass monuments (since tokens go to me) after I get my possession and see him get 2.  Super lucky with the hands he possessed of me and super lucky on the vice versa.
http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150521/log.5172f8e6e4b06622b07e67cd.1432264722185.txt

Urchin/Swindler game where I get my merc on turn 4 and he doesn't get his till turn 7, which I then make him trash on turn 9!!!
http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150521/log.5172f8e6e4b06622b07e67cd.1432265838943.txt

I don't know what I was doing this game, on turn 9 I buy 4 PH's for some reason instead of continuing with my strat of altering stuff for duchies.  It worked out.

assemble_me vs. noey21:

http://www.twitch.tv/assemble_me/c/6721625

Game 1:
BM Butcher mirror. I open Silver/Masq where he goes Silver/Coppersmith which I found weird. He could and probably should have taken a tie during his turn 15. Instead, I just won off of first player advantage.

(There's a little break in the video where I also play mpsprs, game 2 starts at 41:25)
Game 2:
I'm opening 5/2 which is not the greatest thing ever, and so I'm getting Remake/Lighthouse where he goes Remake/Silver. He puts in Rats to remake them later, but I disagree whith this idea on a board where no engine and no good 5$ actions are available. Otherwise it's just Goons BM with Lighthouse and Horse Traders defense, though I'm skipping HT.

Game 3:
Clash of the cursers. He goes Sea Hag and Soothsayer. I decide to go for Familiars, which seems like the wrong assessment.

Game 4:
I'm having 2/5 and decide to go Hunting Party/Haggler, where he decides to go for Rebuild. Hitting 6 with a Haggler during the second shuffle seems to be pretty good, although it looks like he doesn't play it very cleanly. The chat suggested that there was a place to add a Rebuild in my deck, too. I considered it, but didn't do it.

Game 5:
I don't see a way to ignore Rebuild here so we're both going for it this time. I'm having 2/5 again which seems pretty good again while his early Salvager doesn't help a lot.

Game 6:
Finally an engine board. I want to trigger Menageries and want Contraband because there is enough good different stuff to add. It seems like I'm making some slight mistakes while building the engine, like maybe my Village or second Silver should have been a Chancellor. Also, I'm adding Contraband too late - probably I should have taken it over the Lab, though I didn't see my engine coming together that soon afterwards. My Pillages helped me to catch up and I think I played my endgame okay.

assemble_me vs. drsteelhammer

http://www.twitch.tv/assemble_me/c/6743449

Game 1:
The Conspirator engine seems a bit wonky so we both decide to go for mostly Hermit/Trading Post and money. The chat wasn't so sure and thought it could come together. I think the engine would need draw and/or better trashing to be viable.

Game 2:
I'm opening Hermit/Workshop to go for a Goons engine, he starts Hermit/Workshop to rush Gardens. Overall I think that the Gardens rush should have little chance here, and I don't like those many Silvers for that plan.
The chat suggestest adding Spies early before going for Advisors and was a bit mad at me for not adding more Hermits to gain extra Madmen for more big multi Goons turns, which is something I hadn't considered at all. Also, they thought he had a chance of piling out for a win in the end where I ran piles too recklessly.

Game 3:
Urchin vs. Jack. I decide I don't want Urchin here. Jack defends, but my turns aren't that great and it takes a long time for me to get to the first province. His Urchins take forver to conect, though.
It seems like the chat disagrees with me here about Urchin/Mercenary being not good enough against Jack, especially with Fortresses as support.

Game 4:
We both go for Ironworks/Fool's Gold. I win the split and just add Embassies, where he tries to go for Minion and a Forge, which is just too late. I should have taken those two Silvers, that's also what the chat suggested.

Game 5:
Fishing Village/Library engine without trashing but lots of different viable stuff to be added to that deck. I'm adding three Horns which seems a bit greedy.
The chat is not a big fan of Horns here at all, altough I have to say that one could have been nice. Three were way to many, though.

Game 6:
I want mainly Labs, he wants mainly Fool's Golds. We're both opening Remake to thin. In the end both our decks can reliably Province each turn. I probably should have taken more time to think when I first got through my deck; I could have remaked Copper/Silver into another Remake to remake that into an extra Duchy - maybe it could have been a winning move

shraeye vs trinadianese 3-3

Game 1: Video+commentary and the Log
Code: [Select]
Fortune Teller, Philosopher's Stone, Armory, Fortress, Jack of all Trades, Remodel, Highway, Jester, Laboratory, Mystic
I have 5/2 opening when what I want is Jack.  Again.  Dang.  Trinadianese opens Fortress/Fortuneteller.  I don't remember if Fortress got any value.
0-1

Game 2: Video+commentary and the Log
Code: [Select]
Secret Chamber, Trade Route, Bishop, Coppersmith, Ironworks, Noble Brigand, Golem, Cache, Merchant Guild, Saboteur
Some serious Bishop action; I wish I knew better how early and how hardcore to commit to Bishop.  Ironworks gives tons of stuff for Bishop to eat, and Golem lets you play more Bishops.  Gotta watch out for Saboteur though.
1-1

Game 3: Video+commentary and the Log
Code: [Select]
Moat, Pawn, Doctor, Oasis, Marauder, Scavenger, Throne Room, Counting House, Rabble, Harem
I go with a Marauder strategy with some Rabble at the end.  Trinadianese orchestrates a fancy engine-like thing. Doctor exists also; opponent uses it for early trashing, and perhaps gets very unlucky.  I use it on a $10 turn to do much trashing.
2-1

Game 4: Video+commentary and the Log
Code: [Select]
Fortune Teller, Great Hall, Loan, Steward, Scavenger, Count, Haggler, Highway, Mint, Hunting Grounds
I try to open Steward/Silver, but actually end up going Silver/Silver when I forget which turn to do Steward on.  Try to get Mint to work, but it hits only copper twice in a row.  Highway+Haggler is stronger here it seems.
2-2

Game 5: Video+commentary and the Log
Code: [Select]
Masterpiece, Bridge, Caravan, Moneylender, Apprentice, Counterfeit, Ghost Ship, Minion, Upgrade, Fairgrounds
I go mostly for Caravan, intending just to mitigate Ghost Ship and Minion as I go big money.  This turns into me going all-in on Fairgrounds; despite counting very carefully how many unique cards I have, I'm not sure this was best.  Possibly just go Minion.
2-3

Game 6: Video+commentary and the Log
Code: [Select]
Candlestick Maker, Fool's Gold, Haven, Scrying Pool, Warehouse, Workshop, Advisor, Ironmonger, Sea Hag, Council Room
Fool's Gold!  I immediately buy it, then notice SeaHag after the reshuffle. My opponent is going for a Scrying Pool engine,
winning the curse war easily, and also having Scrying pool in there.  Super close, epic last game.  If trinad had had $1 more on
the last turn, it would have gone the other way.
3-3

@Qvists  last game

Same in english (cutted):
I think gaining so many silvers destroyed the control of the deck and you so could not profit of a potion. Your deck was to big and the extra gaining by uni would have been great in a smaller deck. Also your copper trashing was to slow.

Match vs kylar

Let's go for the one sentence summaries.

kylar start

http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150606/log.50d804c7e4b0b34255505855.1433636238024.txt

Council Room - Counterfeit - BM loses to 10 Minion stack.

More specifically I think my Counterfeit - CR buy should be Counterfeit - Gold without question. I was thinking Minion might screw me out of Council Room plays, but it works out the same way anyways and the collisions hurt a LOT.

(I accidentally closed my tab in this game, but I gave the win to kylar since he was going to Prov + something this turn. I Prov on my turn and we tie again into kylar's next turn. He double Provs next turn almost all the time. At that point, I can only win on Prov + Prov + Estate off a crazy Counterfeit turn. He was also aiming to Upgrade Remake into Duchy, and if he got that too I have literally no outs. I was estimating around 90% win for him and that's close enough to 100.)

kylar start

http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150606/log.50d804c7e4b0b34255505855.1433637245849.txt

Apprentice - BM is not fast enough to beat Duchy - Duke.

Apprentice can help you empty piles fast, if you Apprentice Provinces. I can't afford to do that because I need those points to stay ahead of the Duchies, and thus can't end the game fast enough. I'd say an optimal version of my strategy beats a non-optimal Duchy/Duke less than 50% of the time.

Titan start

You know what, I'll actually censor game 3 since I'm going to submit it for the champion match. It's a neat kingdom if both people get 4/3. In my game I got 5/2 vs 4/3 and steamrolled.

kylar start

http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20150606/log.50d804c7e4b0b34255505855.1433639185100.txt

Uncontested FG carries the day, 3 pile on Ruins, Estate, Fool's Gold.

Marauder emptied the Ruins. FG disappeared over time. Baron gives the final pile. A slightly different shuffle and this game goes the other way, since my deck is very fat on my last shuffle (5 extra Ruins) and it's fortunate I draw a Baron in my first hand.

Slight overtrashing vs terrible luck, neglecting FG in engines gives a loss.

I trash down pretty quickly, but I'm stuck at 2 Shanty Towns for actions and don't have great ways to get more, bites me back later. I don't realize how strong FG is until a little too late. kylar misses a win, then I'm $1 off from a win, then kylar's $1 off from a win, then kylar wins in the end. I should win this for sure with better play given kylar's T5 Chapel + Remake.

Skipping Goons is dumb, don't do it.

Butcher - Market Square is very tempting and I go for Butcher as my 1 terminal, but between Minion, Goons, and no hand size increasers, you can't use Butcher effectively and Goons is just much better.

assemble_me vs. Micha1980

http://www.twitch.tv/assemble_me/c/6803130

Game 1:
Not a very interesting board, we both go for Baron, Peddlers and Oases. I'm not sure about my Talisman but it seems like it helps me to get slightly ahead. I'm taking an early Duchy and he can never really catch up.
The chat didn't like my early Duchy but thought the Talisman did okay. Also, they think I should have taken two Barons with my Talisman early when I refused to do so.

Game 2:
He opens Fortress which I don't like, not even in the presence of Upgrade and I think you have to open Potion. He went for more money and Provinces and less for Potion and Vineyards.
At the end I thought I could have taken more time to build, but it seems the chat would have liked getting a Vineyard already when I took my second Uni. Looking at the chat, I probably didn't play this as horribly as I thought, although they said I took way too many Swindlers where I should have taken cantrips.

Game 3:
Sea Hag is the clear thing for both of us. I decide to go for Embassy and Hoard afterwards while he decides to go for a more engine-like approach. I decide adding a Band of Misfits. My Embassies behave quite bad with my shuffles in the end.
The chat thinks I should have played my BoM as a Sea Hag more often and maybe I should have taken another Embassy right there instead of BoM.

Game 4:
I probably don't take enough time to think about what to do here. I just go straight for Chancellor, Rebuild and Tunnel, he goes for Rebuild and Rogue. I think I misplay heavily. Probably I should have taken more Tunnels instead of extra Silvers. Also, probably Rogue-Rebuild is just better than Rebuild-Tunnel overall.

Game 5:
We both go for a lot of Hunting Parties here with Hermits. I decide to get the first Hunting Party before going for Mountebank while he decides to go for a Pirate Ship. I'm picking up an in between Hamlet and can hit a double Province turn with a Madman later.
The chat thought I played this quite badly especially with my Cellars. Also they didn't like my early Hamlet, I don't know if I could have gone for it later but it was certainly important to have when I had my Madman turn.

Game 6:
It's obvious that you want King's Courts, Goons and Scrying Pools here. I'm opening Pearl Diver/Potion where he goes for Silver/Potion. Both my opening buys miss the shuffle and it looks like I'm behind a long time, though my Navigator does a great job and I get extra Scrying Pools and can draw my deck faster than him, at which point he just can't catch up any more. It seems like he had some bad luck mid game, although the chat is not sure that's really true and he surely could have had a much better turn 11 by playing Navigator before Scrying Pool. On the other hand, it looks like I played this one decently as the chat didn't object to most of my decisions (besides kinging the Scrying Pool and picking up an extra Market instead of Goons No. 1 or 2).

shraeye vs trinadianese (2nd match; due to dropouts) 6-0

Game 1: Log
Code: [Select]
Poor House, Cellar, Haven, Fortune Teller, Bishop, Farming Village, Feast, Herald, Cache, Count
I go for some hybrid bishop-count strategy.  I'm thinking that count can gain me Duchies and trash my coppers, then my Bishops can find the Duchies.  It turns out that that is sort of anti-synergystic, but through some early Golds my economy is able to beat out Trinad's heavy-Bishop strategy.
1-0

Game 2: Log missing, will try to find
Colony game. I double Ambassador, which counters Trinad's Mountebank (with 5/2) fairly well.  I get a very early lead in Grand markets backed up by a few cities that gain value as the game certainly is going long.  Armory is a good way to ensure that piles go, as I slowly work the Caravan pile down.  For both of us, economy comes pretty late in the game (I buy the first Platinum on turn 20).
2-0

Game 3: Log
Code: [Select]
Shanty Town, Tunnel, Ironmonger, Ironworks, Island, Pirate Ship, Bandit Camp, Cache, City, Witch
My main goal is Witch, because of no trashing.  Shanty Town/Bandit camp aren't my favorite villages for a straightforward strategy, but I'll lean on Shanty Town because of the slog-nature and the cheaper cost (In the end, I buy no villages).  Trinad opens with Ironworks, the only quasi+Buy, but I open using Ironmonger and plan on getting an Ironworks later.
I miss the Ironmonger-can-discard-Tunnel situation at first, and hope that ignoring it was accidentally correct; eventually, I give in and buy some.
I also miss Ironworks gaining an Island being pretty cool; I start doing that at turn 8, and I think trinad misses this. This also means I lose Ironmonger race, but the rush is strong enough to win.
3-0

Game 4:Log
Code: [Select]
Vineyard, Poor House, Squire, Fishing Village, Gardens, Spy, Golem, Junk Dealer, Royal Seal, Expand
I try a Vineyards rush, but buying 2 Junk Dealers runs me into the problem where I have nothing I want to trash.  Eventually, they collide and I can trash one with the other.
Close game, and in the end the Vineyard eke it out.
4-0

Game 5: Log
Code: [Select]
Herbalist, Lighthouse, Steward, Familiar, Philosopher's Stone, Spy, City, Junk Dealer, Minion, Venture
I luck out and open 5/2 on what looks like it could be a Minion board.  There is Familiar, but Lighthouse with occasional help from Steward should thwart that. I stop at 8 minions trying not to activate trinad's Cities too easily
5-0

Game 6:Log
Code: [Select]
University, Fortune Teller, Masterpiece, Sage, Steward, Salvager, Talisman, Tactician, Fairgrounds
I avoid University; I'm just not sure what cards I actually want to gain with it. My goal is to do mostly Money+Tactician, helped along by a Salvager and a Hoard.  In the end, I'm trashing provinces to close before any clever stuff can overtake me (Fairgrounds is on the board)
6-0

In my match against Rabid there were three very interesting games...

Code: [Select]
Urchin, Advisor, Gardens, Herald, Cache, Mystic, Torturer, Venture, Harem, Possession
http://dominionlogs.goko.com/20150610/log.50a43f07e4b0addfc4f4304a.1433965543828.txt

In this game, we played an average of 40 turns each... because of Possession. He greened first, while I kept building Possessions. Eventually he had a decent lead, but I had a stronger deck with a 6-4 herald split and two more Possession. He wasn't able to end the game, so I caught up on points. By that point, both of our decks were so horrible that we just possessed each other and bought estates, and it was a real nailbiter to the end. In the end, I was up one point with 2 estates left, and he got the second to last one, and I got the last. The heralds added a nice element where we would accidentally play each other's possessions. I had one turn where he got possessed 6 times in a row. If Possession is played on a Possession turn, you don't get the Possession turn until AFTER your next normal turn, which is definitely not how it is supposed to work, but I suppose it's fair. Neither of us played this anywhere near perfectly, but it's the first Possession game in a while where I felt like I mostly knew what I was doing.

Code: [Select]
Beggar, Masquerade, Tunnel, Mining Village, Plaza, Spice Merchant, Cartographer, Journeyman, Upgrade, Border Village
http://dominionlogs.goko.com/20150610/log.50a43f07e4b0addfc4f4304a.1433970374575.txt

This was an engine where we both used 9/10 kingdom cards, and the 10th, Mining Village, is not super-awful. Yes, we used beggar in our engines to get more copper fuel for spice merchants, which were the only +buy. Some nice masquerade and upgrade schenanigans here too. He made the wise choice to go for tunnel before beggar, while I was too eager for beggar. In the end we had a fair number of dead-ish turns, but his superior deck eventually pulled it out. Another that is tricky to play right.

Code: [Select]
Doctor, Watchtower, Feast, Sea Hag, Talisman, Festival, Ghost Ship, Graverobber, Horn of Plenty, King's Courthttp://dominionlogs.goko.com/20150610/log.50a43f07e4b0addfc4f4304a.1433972091653.txt

This is the best board I've played in a while. Sea Hag is a joke, and Ghost Ship is just a $5 worse-than-moat. He gets an early lead, but he gets HoPs which I think is a mistake. I get a nice Doctor overpay which makes me slightly thinner than him I believe and make a comeback focused on Graverobber and feast. I almost mess it up on the last turn but I had enough wiggle room that it was alright. There is a lot of luck on this board, but there are also a ton of awesome tactics.

The series is incomplete, but this game must be shared. It's very silly and I have no idea who played it better.

Code: [Select]
Poor House, Cellar, Herbalist, University, Smugglers, Horse Traders, Nomad Camp, Scout, Young Witch, Golem, Rabble
Bane: Smugglers

liopoil won on a 3 pile of Cellar, Rabble, Scout. Additionally Scout wasn't emptied as an action pile to empty with University, it was emptied because we both realized Scout was a worthwhile pickup.

I would get 2 Young Witches before even considering Rabble. Moving the Curse pile into your opponent's deck is great (and Smugglers is a terrible bane here), and what are you even really looking to draw with Rabble anyway? Rabble's attack also becomes a lot stronger once your opponent has a bunch of Curses.

The E5 match between shraeye and myself is now complete.

Game 1: Log / Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Squire, Stonemason, Vagrant, Market Square, Masquerade, Scheme, Caravan, Band of Misfits, Festival, PossessionI'm afraid Masquerade should be too fast here so that it doesn't matter how dangerous it is in a Possession game. I'm quickly behind but get my Possession at the first chance and have very lucky Possession turns later, passing myself two Provinces.

Game 2: Log / Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Great Hall, Storeroom, JackOfAllTrades, Navigator, Salvager, Catacombs, Jester, Market, Outpost, TreasuryDouble Jack beats Double Jester.

Game 3: Log / Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Squire, Ambassador, Masquerade, Bridge, Ironworks, Silk Road, Upgrade, Adventurer, Border Village, Hunting GroundsPossibly the most interesting game of the match. Due to a misclick in the turn before I can pile out in a convenient moment.

Game 4: Log / Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Lighthouse, Develop, Sage, Envoy, Feodum, Apprentice, Counting House, Hunting Party, Mystic, King's CourtDue to the missing +Buy I decide to go Envoy-BM but in hindsight KC seems to be better. Had shraeye kept his Develop for extra gains, he would have won, I think.

Game that wasn't: (no Log) Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Apothecary, Doctor, Alchemist, Familiar, Ironmonger, Navigator, Trader, Explorer, Minion, FarmlandI win the Minion split but my deck is not as thin. Then the connection breaks down and we have to postpone.

Game 5: Log (no Video)
Code: [Select]
Chapel, Scrying Pool, Pirate Ship, Ghost Ship, Haggler, Minion, Stables, Torturer, Border Village, BankStupidly I don't buy Chapel with my 5-2 start (hoping for a better chance on 6 in t3/t4) and for the remainder of the game, I pay for this.

Game 6: Log (no Video)
Code: [Select]
Forager, Swindler, Philosopher's Stone, Death Cart, Feodum, Baker, Embassy, Graverobber, Haggler, MinionAfter an identical start (Forager/Minion), shraeye is soon far ahead, but a very lucky Swindler kills two Minions and so I have a nice comeback.

Masquerade helps me in the beginning game, but is super dangerous when possession is out.  I
don't realize this quickly enough, maybe it would still be a safe/smart opening if I then
Stonemason it away and pick up two Vagrants or something.  Ummmm, possession...is just a card
I don't like playing with.  I never buy it successfully and frequently avoid it dumbly.

Game 2: Log / Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Great Hall, Storeroom, JackOfAllTrades, Navigator, Salvager, Catacombs, Jester, Market, Outpost, TreasuryDouble Jack beats Double Jester.
I don't remember what happened.  Oh yeah.  I discovered that double-Jester doesn't beat
double-Jack.

I'm trying for some sort of silk roads + bridge buyout thing.  I'm not sure if I am focused enough.
I frequently don't trash copper, when I think i should have to be thin.  However, it's nice to have
copper in hand when tuffteah plays Masquerades every turn.  So who knows.  Probably good players do.

Trying to be clever.  Feodum/Develop dream doesn't work, King's court gets me a bunch of cards,
but no +Buy makes that not so cool.  Beaten by Envoy + BM.
So that's two games trying to be too clever.  Was I onto any good idea? Was it just poorly executed?

Game that wasn't: (no Log) Video+Commentary
Code: [Select]
Apothecary, Doctor, Alchemist, Familiar, Ironmonger, Navigator, Trader, Explorer, Minion, FarmlandI win the Minion split but my deck is not as thin. Then the connection breaks down and we have to postpone.
I decide to get on the minions and ignore familiar.  Then tuffteah shows that he opened 5/2.
So I race him as best I can on the minions, but it ends up 4-6 in his favor.  I picked up a few Ironmongers
along the way though.  Right when we are about to see who wins, connection is lost :(

My match against Jimmmmm

Sorry for the awful video quality.
The match had a game where Jim obliterated me with Gardens, and one game where I did the same to him using Vineyards, other games were more or less coin flip.

Game 1 you had so much money in your deck and a lot of platina, you should have just taken any chance to apprentice platinum in order to get multiple buy turns with your candlestick makers. Having 2 apprentices instead of 1 was your only advantage and it is a big one.

assemble_me vs Simon (DK)

http://www.twitch.tv/assemble_me/c/6854112

Game 1:
At the beginning of the video, you can see what happens when Goko has a black out ;)
Not an exciting board. He opens Remodel/Silver while I go Bandit Camp and choose Baron and later an Explorer as my terminals. He can remodel his Estates into Ironmongers and can also remodel Gold into Province once, though it's the only Gold he's buying throughout the game. I liked my Baron despite remodeling into Ironmongers. I don't like his Baron when he had no Estates left.

Game 2:
A Goons board and I open Silver/Smugglers, which seems awful in hindsight. I'm having troubles to hit 6$ and also can't really take advantage of my Smugglers. I keep wondering if Hunting Party is better than Journeyman, but as he has that many Villages and Sages for sifting, it's going pretty well for him. The chat said that Journeyman is just the better kind of draw here.

Game 3:
Crazy, crazy engine here. Every single decision in this game seems hard. We both open Silver/Remake. I decide to pick up a potion on the way, but as the Governor split seems so important, I'm only getting one Scrying Pool. He's skipping Potion entirely. I'm a bit worried by his Bishop, but he has to trash it before taking a lot of advantage of it. I misplay my turn 12 and the game ends with a tight finish.
The chat had many suggestions on this one. Opening Potion/Masq was one thing and maybe that would have been better but I have no clue about it. Also, they thought I should have gone harder for Throne Rooms, like I could have opponent-Governor-remodeled a Wishing Well into a Throne Room, also they thought I should have bought a Throne Room instead of a Worker's Village. Besides, they think I should have taken Sir Michael when he was on top to play it right away, which would have been huge after drawing with Governor and I really should have considered that.
One thing I also wanted to mention is that I think Dame Natalie was really great here.
Overall, this was my most exciting game this season and probably one of my most exciting games ever. I guess I made a few mistakes but altogether I'm happy how I played this.

Game 4:
I'm opening Silver/Forager to have a chance on an early Highway while he opens Forager/Forager. I'm getting a third Forager and we both add Market Squares. Hitting it exactly, I'm taking one Advisor when I can almost get through my deck. I think he's getting way to many Golds, like maybe his first Gold is okay for some economy as he has no Silver, but the second seems really questionable and the rest seem plain bad to me. His Golds gum up his deck while I can find my way through.

Game 5:
Fishing Village/Border Village/Wharf engine with Workshops and Monuments, though there's no trashing. We're both opening Fishing Village/Monument to get Workshop on a <5$ hand after the shuffle. He's getting a lot of Monuments early while I can get more Border Villages and Wharves, which is a huge deal.
Despite having less Monuments for a long time, the chat thought I picked up too many early on. They thought I should have gotten Courtyards instead. Also, getting a Courtyard on turn 5 might have been good for me.

Game 6:
A King's Court/Bridge board. We're both going for Urchins first but it seems he's never colliding them first, then I'm hitting a lucky 7$ for KC which also is almost not happening for him. The chat freaks out for me not playing KC-Farming Village to draw. Though, it doesn't matter as my luck just took me miles and miles ahead.
