Opponent was obviously an idiot.
Well played. Our main difference was you had 1 Inn and a Golem early, while I had 2 Inns and no Golem. At first it seemed foolish to go Golem because I wouldn't want to eventually get down to a thin deck and Golem an Amb and have to give a good card. In hindsight, that was probably just not a realistic situation, at least not for the next ~40 turns at least haha.
This was the longest game I've ever played. Crazy thing was it was not even close to being over really. Although you definitely had me beat.
Between Stables and Inn, I'm pretty sure it's possible to build a deck while engaging in the Amb war? In tight decks, Amb returns more cards than the opponent gives (unless the opponent somehow gives all different cards), which means that you don't need to match your opponent in Amb count to avoid losing the Amb war. Stables and Harem form a mild synergy that becomes more useful in prolonged games.
That was basically the idea for both of us. But it just took forever to get it going. There were times when I had to choose keeping a copper and buying a $5 card, or getting rid of the copper to have $4 and buy nothing. I went with the latter most of time, which might have been wrong, not sure. But what you said was basically what we were both trying to do it seemed like.
