I asked about this just yesterday actually, in response to a question on our forums. Here's what I was told:
Our first priority is getting the 2.0 version of the existing game out for web and then mobile. After those are live it will be a high priority to get Adventures live. "High", but not necessarily "highest". Adventures will be a major effort requiring substantial enhancements to the engine, AI and user interface, and we already have a long list of post-launch enhancements to the existing game.

So like half a year?

Consider another couple months more on version 2 and at least three more on Adventures.

This was for the new Unity client. From this, we can get a rough projection of release date.

On 2014 June 26, the prediction was "this year", which is roughly 6 months.
On 2015 April 17, the prediction is "a couple months", which we'll call 2 months.

About 10 months of real time had passed since the previous estimate, while 4 months of prediction time had passed. So a guess at a conversion from prediction time to real time is 2.5x, which forecasts Unity client in 5 months (September 2015) and Adventures in another ~7 months after that (April 2016).

This seems accurate for the client, but I expect the cards to not be so far delayed. Guilds came out on the same day. How much lead time did they have there?

From my experience with game store clientele, what you are doing is not that weird.
